Guys there is a reason why nobody runs the Wildcat. It doesn't work, it worked only half the time at Arkansas and the Dolphins tried it and it flopped on them as well. The Wildcat offense cannot and will not work in the SEC because there is way too much speed on the defense.

it won't work as a base offense, but Ole Miss was pretty effective with it with McCluster. and Bama used it well with Ingram in 09.

If he's a legit 6'3" 290 lbs , he needs to drop 40 lbs easy, and possibly 50, to play QB in this league.

The S.S. Lorenzen demands that you alter your course by 15 degrees to avoid a collision.

Lots of guys play early at LSU.

Who knows what 8 months will bring to him or LSU.

Most guys with his size, speed, and ability have had their way in HS and they really do expect to play early.

Any possibility we line him up at QB for some wildcat snaps like Oklahoma did with Blake Bell? I see a lot of similarities between he and Bell. Both big bulldozers, and Liggins is probably slightly quicker

yeah, he should look forward to as many wildcat formation snaps as RS , who was the # 1 option hs qb his senior year in high school, has taken in his entire college career. however, the prized option to the short side of the field is a different matter altogether.

At 6"3 270 he has a better chance of eating a starting qb than being the starting qb.

This.
I have confidence Liggins and the coaches will find a way to get this guy to contribute significantly, even if it's not at QB. However, red shirting him would be the wise move at this juncture IMO.

Why? I know 290 may not be his playing weight, but why does he have to be 240? if he has his mobility and can throw it he can be 300 all i care. I bet he runs faster 40 at 290 than Wilson does at whatever weight he is.
