Omaha: How big of an economic boost to local businesses was due to LSU in the CWS?

Easy to tell with Rocco's just by jello shots. Just wondering about all the other businesses around town.

Barrett's took the day off yesterday after running out of food on a daily basis.
I'm really curious if people on the executive team who don't pay attention to any other context than what the books say are going to allocate more money to spend next year, thinking that what happened this year was the norm, which would be the case if LSU keeps making it, but LOL if we don't and causes record losses for some of those places.

Rocco's had a 375% increase in jello shots sold to LSU from Ole Miss. Due to rounding and other variables, I think it is safe to say that LSU as CWS champions causes a 350% boost to the Omaha economy compared to when they are not in attendance.

I talked to a local business owner that was saying Ole Miss had a pretty good second wave that showed up for the championship series, but LSU fans showed up early, stayed, and still had that second wave of fans show up.

Every establishment I went into was at least 75-80% LSU!

Probably too early to say but Omaha wants LSU in there every year for a reason.

"It's really not the same when they are not here," said Jack Barrett Jeffrey, manager of Barrett's Barleycorn Pub & Grill. "To see all of these LSU folks coming back, they are like family to us and I think when LSU is in Omaha they bring a certain type of fun."

One game the guy sitting beside me was from 30 minutes outside of Omaha. I asked who he was cheering for and he responded, "our hometown favorite team, LSU"
I also had a conversation with a father and his young son dressed head to toe in Tiger gear. I asked them where they were from expecting to hear Louisiana and he told me he had lived in Omaha his whole life.
He then proceeded to tell me about his father taking him to Rosenblatt when he was a kid in the 90's and how nice the LSU fans where to him then. He had zero connection to LSU but has been a lifelong fan because of how we treated him as a child.
It really brought into perspective how much Omaha loves LSU and the impact we have had there over the years.

For some reason this wasn’t the case in Austin in 2019. I know it was a night game but maybe the bars in Austin were better prepared than the ones in Nashville.

You must not have been to Omaha. This was my first time. It's double the population of Baton Rouge and a nice city. I enjoyed my time there and I can guarantee LSU had a huge economic impact. Everywhere I went, even areas away from the stadium, I had locals talking to me about the Tigers. You could feel the excitement that LSU brought to the whole town.

I've been going to Omaha when LSU plays since the early 1990's. Omaha people are wonderful. Omaha is wonderful. Life is wonderful. And yes, Omaha people love LSU fans.

I missed the TV ratings, how did it stack up this year to years past. TIA

LSU ought to play one neutral baseball game in Omaha each season against a big 10 team.
