Recruiting never suffered with les no matter who was on staff. The guy can recruit with anyone.

He would return the Ole Miss program to health.

that train is never late.

one day someone on here will have to explain how one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history, let alone lsu history, was a huge disappointment year in and year out.

Great players at LSU helped miles tremendously

miles took over a shite Oklahoma State program that had 1 winning season in the previous 13 years and had 3 straight winning season had 8 and 9 win seasons.

also, there are no title contending programs that lack talent.

I saw an Ole Miss activist at a grocery store tonight and he said Archie Manning has already been called about Peyton Manning becoming coach.

This hire would be great for TAF's bank account.

Peyton Manning is a possibility for Ole Miss with Shea as QB.

Good. Our defense will be ready for Les Mile's 4 quarters of run up the middle.

Our defense has struggled against teams that can run rt at us. Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, UF when they can run the ball.

And a person would have to be delusional to think it's all good to have Les Miles and Nick Saban trying to grab LA talent every year. Eff that.

You must think Larry Coaker is a great coach too. Better win pct at the U than Miles at LSU went undefeated and appeared in back to back national title games Miles didn't accomplish either. Guess that wasn't a result of talent he was just an outstanding coach. I like how you left out the part about OSU being on probation before Miles got there too and that the coach before they were on probation was more successful than Miles. And I dunno where you're getting 13 years from they won 8 games in 97, 4 years before he arrived and won 4 games.

Me either, but if the situation arose late in the game and Ole Miss needed to use a timeout, I would be all smiles!

Exactly. It never ceases to amaze me how people disrespect Miles (and so many others who gave their all for LSU). Since LSU fans consider 10-win seasons to be quite pedestrian nowadays, Saban had one season in 5 years with more than 10 wins. Meanwhile, Les had 11+ wins in 5 of his first 7 seasons. Les Miles was LSU's greatest coach, and it is amazing how little respect people give him.

Not to mention frequent delay of game penalties because the inability to call a play in.... and piss poor clock management

I don't think there is any chance Miles ends up at Ole Miss, but it is hilarious that so many on here think it would be some kind of "gotcha!, lol Ole Miss" moment while we are currently paying the worst coach in their history 3.5 million to lead our program.

Recruiting failures in Louisiana, mostly losing top Louisiana prospects to Alabama, were one of the reasons for our decline under Miles. Recruiting failures in particular position areas, mostly defensive line, linebacker and QB, were also part of it. Miles' recruiting classes were usually ranked very high, but overrated, which is why we are at such a huge talent disadvantage right now with Alabama and other elite programs.

I would hate to see Les Miles coaching against LSU, but not because of some "coaching acumen" issue (because I don't think Ole Miss will ever be a threat to LSU). It just seems unseemly.

BUT, the OP is correct - Ole Miss needs someone like Les Miles to restore the integrity of the program.

This isn't about restoring Ole Miss to some SEC Championship program. This is about making them competitive and straightening out the program.

I hope Miles declines.

I think Ole Miss And Miles would be ok. Miles is a good recruiter not Great, Lets don't forget he had lost the New Orleans Area and guys like Freak Johnson, L Collins and others had committed to Tenn and others, it wasn't until we got lucky and Kiffin bolted for USC and we were able to get Frank Wilson and saved that recruiting class(Lucky we had the big $s)We are still fighting to get N Louisiana back, the NL kids say they have felt disrespected under Miles. WM at one time was a pipeline to LSU. So yes Miles is a good recruiter, but NO he is far from great. With no attention to details and avg to sloppy special teams, predictable offense, he will need what he had at LSU to be successful. A great Defensive Coordinator and a lot of talent(Miles to stay out of his way)and a BIG budget for the best Coaching staff money can Buy, stacked with GREAT recruiters..

If OM ever beat LSU with Miles, this board would implode.
