What are all those people doing on the field?
Did we just beat Knute Rockne or something?

My guess is that this is before 1950. I do not see Hatcher Hall and Hodges Hall. I believe both dorms were built in the late 1940s. Or, I suppose they may be there, but just not in the photo. It seems we would see some of Hatcher Hall in that photo though.

What a time to be alive!

What was it like? Did you live there while any games were played?

One game stands out the then traditional annual freshmen game when you had to wear PJs at a night game and in ‘47 that particular night was very cold and we froze our arses off. How could one forget that except to not remember who won! Many other fond memories.

I might be wrong but I bet people are just leaving through the NEZ. Old baseball games people would walk on some fields when the games were over.

day-um. - I am 85 and I was a freshman there in 1956!! === you still kicking at 95

Where did you drink? What did you do around there in your off time?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No I’m 93 last November 1930 baby enrolled just shy of 17 I worked part time at a restaurant and pool hall just off campus Where to drink in LA in those days was easy for anyone over five feet five inches if you had $ I did mine at the restaurant as we didn’t dare drink in our room.

When discussions started about the new south upper deck, I was really hoping they would demo the lower south end zone as part of the process to match the lower north. Instead, they doubled down on ugly and did an atrocious job with the exterior of the new south upper. Aesthetically, everything done to the stadium since it was a horse shoe has been one bad design after another.

100% agree. But even with some poor choices, I used to love the way the stadium looked from the outside. It was a point of pride. Now, after the last build out, I honestly think it looks embarrassing from the outside. Ultimately, the magic happens on the inside, but it’s still upsetting.

No didn’t miss him saw him play his senior and last year He was given a new yellow Studerbaker car when leaving the one with the back that looked like the front YaYa walked around it pretending he didn’t know which end to get in. You know he played awfully good defense.

Come on man. Tiger Stadium is one of the most impressive and notable stadiums in the world from the outside. To call it embarrassing is embarrassing on your part.

Was, and still is from one angle. It's the one you always see:
