Now if OU beats Bama that will be impressive. But they had to go to OT to beat Army
EXactly. Happiest guy in the country last night was Saban. Let him have the Heisman, Tua will take him on the field is what they are thinking..

That is so dumb. You and I both know if the Big 12 had Alabama in its conference the Oklahoma would have 0 conference titles in the last 4 years. LSU has to contend with a freaking dynasty and prolly the greatest coach ever in their own division every year. The toughest thing Oklahoma has to deal with is a Texas program that hasn't been relevant since Colt McCoy left.

Bama will wax their arse in the playoffs. I have absolutely no issues with a run first offense in the SEC. In fact you’re probably f’Ed without one, but you must have balance with a competent passing game, which LSU simply hasn’t had in over five years.

Iowa state does. Put some respect on that name.
And they put plenty of points on UGA last year. They’ll score on bama too.

No. OU is not Pass First:
If your team isn't "complete" in the same way that Bama is (extraordinary offense and defense), is it more integral to have an elite defense or elite offense?
Alabama is a perfect example of a team that's changed it's philosophy in recent years. The Crimson Tide have decided to open up its offense, which means its defense will likely give up a few more points. Watching Clemson and Alabama in recent years, that's where the game appears to be headed. It's easier to have a somewhat functional defense than a somewhat functional offense.
This year, we've seen that teams with great defenses but limited offenses (LSU, Mississippi State) can only get so far. Mississippi State might have the best overall defense in the country and the Bulldogs were still 8-4. Meanwhile, Oklahoma's pourous defense has only cost the Sooners one game -- a 48-45 loss to Texas that featured three offensive turnovers.
Oklahoma, ALA, and LSU are virtually identical in Pass % and Attempts/Game. The difference is that their Spread RPO Tempo Offenses are Elite and Efficient: QBs are phenomenal.
Oklahoma ----- 28.0 Att/gm = 43.59% Pass ----- Rank 86th
Alabama ------- 28.8 Att/gm = 43.49% Pass --- Rank 88th
LSU ------------- 29.4 Att/gm = 43.47% Pass ---- Rank 89th (most atts in last 10 yrs)
Oklahoma, ALA, LSU are virtually identical this year in Run/Pass Ratio. It just appears OU & ALA are passing more than running because they are 5x as efficient at Passing and running a very well-honed modern Spread RUN/Pass/Option Tempo Offense.
Bottom Line is they are not Passing more or running significantly more or less plays/game or PPM.
However, OU & ALA are Top 2 Scoring Offenses and Top 5 Passing Offenses and that is why they are in the CFP along with Clemson at #5.
While Fisher was here was the only time LSU was ranked as high as 11th on Offense in 2006 with a 45/55 balanced attack.

I rather a balanced run first offense that controls the clock. Sorry.
Let me blow your mind even more. Guess who's top ten in both passing and running?

I prefer an offense that moves the ball, preferably in big chunks.
The odds of any offense consistently scoring on 14 play, 80 yard drives that chew up 7 minutes is very low.
Move the ball in chunks and score a lot of points. Sure, run the ball too, but open up the offense to move as quickly and bigly down the field as possible.
3 yards in a cloud of dust died with Woody Hayes.

Yes they are and OU clearly has more than LSU in both Categories
