Skenes, Floyd, Hurd. Looks like that’s going to be our go to until we see more at this point.

This. I believe before the end of the season, Shores will push to make the weekend. I’m predicting SEC tourney time.

Shores can barely get past the 3rd inning in all of his outings. His control (consistency) isn't there - looks like Floyd from last season.

Skenes, Hurd and Floyd will be the rotation.
Shores may get some chances but he needs some improvement.

Yep. Hence 31 weeks later working with W Johnson and improving. But hey, I forget pitchers like Walker didn’t improve over the course of a season. I’m expecting Johnson can ACTUALLY coach.
He gets to 5-6 from 3-4 and he is a starter from an innings perspective but what do I know.

Cooper is the next option behind the main 3, not shores. He hasn’t shown the ability to stay in control. He can get work midweek and out the pen. Garrett Edwards may even get a look before shores again. He’s looked very good so far.

So we’ll get through the regular season with Skenes, Floyd, & Hurd as our horses, then switch to a true freshman when it counts the most?

Interdasting.

So only Shores will improve?

No, but Shores can improve the most. He is the one with similar talent to Skenes, but he can't quite control it.

If we were out of starters, and we were in an elimination game with every other pitcher available, I'd go with Edwards, unless it was a five or six lefty lineup. He looks like he can go through the lineup twice. Little is the only other one, and his role seems to be back end somewhere, probably closer.

IMO, the starters are pretty much locked in with Skenes, Floyd, and Hurd. The only real question is the order after Skenes, but I think it's splitting hairs with either option.

I think Hurd is the more polished of the two, but Floyd has looked great now that he has developed some offspeed. I would leave Floyd on Saturday for now. I like the idea of Hurd pitching either for a sweep or deciding the series.

Bullpen arms in SEC:
Little
Cooper
Ack
Edwards
Shores
Money

I think Herring factors in somewhere. I really think he's going to be a good one.

Where has Coleman been? He was lined up to be a big part of last season before the injury. Did I miss something about his recovery?

CJJ said at the beginning of the year, if Coleman pitched, it wouldn't be until late in the season.

I'm interested to see him maybe get a few extended outings in a midweek soon. Whether it is to start a game or just out the bullpen for 3+ innings.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on seeing Coleman this season. Especially if Herring shows he can develop a little and be a good LH option. That would give 3 LHP to go to without having to use Coleman too early. Plus, his stamina and control will not be where it needs to be late in the season coming off the injury and I'm not sure you want that when it counts most.

The nice thing about this year besides the depth of the staff is that we have the luxury of an insane offense and great defense until we don’t. I’m interested to see how mentally prepared we are in early SEC games when we are in a tight game, late. I guess the closest comp would be the Texas game.

What the hell is with the downvotes lol. According to most it’s gonna be who I’m predicting. Was it because it was so obvious?

Money wasn't ready last year. Maybe he could sneak in on Sunday if he can get some meaningful innings against good sec teams to earn a chance?

No. Would be awesome if that happened but I just don’t see it.
