My problem with Landry was not running the bus over Woodward. My problem was it was clearly political theater because Woodward IMO was a lame duck AD. You pay a coach that money that Kelly got in a long term contract in the most important sport at a school and the guy fails at the job. You are D.E.A.D. in keeping your own job.
Not to mention, Landry couldn't have been more wrong in what he was spouting... Taxpayers have never been on the hook for an LSU coach's salary, and there is no world in which the incentive-based contract he was pining for was going to get a coach worthy of the LSU job to campus, especially Kiffin.
Giving Landry roses after this is hilarious.

Obviously, Woodward was more of a problem than any of us realized.
Some of us realized it and tried to tell y’all, but yall were too busy crying like a bunch of pussies.
Wahhhh! No coach is going to come here!!!
Then Kiffin mentions the Governor multiple times in his welcome speech.
This board is full of retards.

And let the masses complain, bc what’s being done is for their benefit.
I'm sorry but...weren't all the masses saying Woodward wrote some shite contracts well before Landry pushed him out the door?

Now we just need Landry to keep Tulane away from our DC Baker.

Well it was dumb to pin this on Landry and to think he was hiring the new coach.
We fired Kelly after multiple schools including UF fired their coaches. We could have stuck it out with Kelly or go get our guy before he went to another opening.
This was never orchestrated by Landry.

I’m also pretty sure a lot of these coaches have met or been at functions with the governor of their state.
quote:
Highest-paid state official in 43 states is a college coach; Louisiana in top 5
quote:
According to a recent study, the top-paid state employee in most states is a football or basketball coach.
Of course, Louisiana is one of them. LSU head football coach Brian Kelly is tied for the fifth-highest paid state employee in the country, with an annual salary of $9.5 million.
quote:
This only reflects what coaches are paid at state schools, but salaries paid by private schools are similar, according to the study. USC football coach Lincoln Riley ($10 million), Duke basketball coach John Scheyer ($9.7 million) and Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman ($7.5 million), all private institutions, show that state schools are paying what the market demands for top-level coaches.

it was only a few shorts weeks ago that it was all doom and gloom and Jeff Landry "destroyed LSU" nonsensical talk.
now, today the highest sought after coach in the country mentioned and gave Landry props multiple times in his press conference.
leaders have to lead. regardless if you like his style, the way he talks, or whatever the issue is ... Landry gets stuff done.

No coach was going to give a crap what the governor thought of said coach if offered a 100 million contract and 30 million NIL. some people take the media's opinion too seriously.

Jeff Landry had nothing to do with us getting Lane Kiffin.
And he still was too dumb to get into LSU.

Obviously not. Kiffin only mentioned him 5 or 6 times in his press conference today. But he had nothing to do with it.
You people are seriously dumb.
