I can’t think of a player whose stock skyrocketed from high school more than his.

I think this was the stat I heard Sunday...that there were only 3 holding penalties called all of week 1 and DL had 2.

He's been really good, but they didn't have to call our boy out like that

Cregg is the best O Line coach LSU has had in recent memory. Has done a really good job developing the players and configuring the line as injuries occurred

But people think this year's team will be peachy-keen. That offense is going be FONKY!

As a Seahawk fan myself (born in Seattle and lived there most of my childhood/early teenage years), I’ve had fun watching him. The fanbase and definitely the players/coaches are absolutely joyous to finally hit on an OL.

Duane Brown, our starting LT and longtime NFL vet said the guy is gonna be an all-Pro.

He might mess around and get a Super Bowl ring if the Hawks keep playing this way.

Dude was solid for us when he was on the team.

The only couple of games I remember him struggling were against the Auburn front and maybe a brief issue against Georgia.

I'll give him a pass on AU D line last year though, they had monsters on their team. He was legit

Last years OL starters going to go down as the best ever. I know the 2003 OL was stout but 2 are first day starters in the NFL and S. Charles is second team. Ingram and Deculus will be on rosters next year.

I'm 98% sold on Cregg... finishing out the recruiting class this year is the last 2% for me.

The biggest thing as compared to the past (in general) with Cregg: We come into week 1 knowing the best 5 and ready to go. No "finding the best rotation" in week 2. No "players getting a feel for it" in week 3.

And the development of the OL players themselves is laudable and noticeable. Granted Lewis came in from JUCO (3* JUCO btw) strong as an ox and technically sound enough where he was almost ready to play. But Cregg took him the rest of the way in one offseason and had him ready to start Week 1. That's not as easy as it sounds for any P5 OL, much less the SEC. He even turned Traore into a serviceable OT (5* JUCO btw) from a rather large speed bump.

And there are many other notables. You can take it player by player and see from one year to the next there is improvement. And noticeable improvement. Barring injuries, I can't think of any regressions.

Were still waiting to see about Kardell and Wire. But I'm guessing Wire made a step improvement; looks like it. Kardell... dunno. But for steady improvement that nets results across the 7 deep, in the SEC, you can't ask for more.

As for Lewis... he just keeps getting better. With his innate characteristics and work ethic he's well on his way to being a multi-year top dog in the NFL.

Reminds me of Trae Turner even though Trae left after his r-soph year. Both stepped in and commanded their position.

I'm sure this dude has overcome a lot and had to shake off a lot of haters and their doubts, and he not only ended up on an NFL roster as a 3rd round pick, but he's thriving off of it. His future is bright. Proud of him.

Maybe, but Lewis showed up at LSU as our best defensive linemen. He wasn’t coached up.
