Ive had season tickets for 20 years now. My first pair of season tickets were $225 for both. The same tickets are now almost $2000. Most family's cant afford an extra 2-4k a year. I think both upper decks need to be TAF free.

What advantage does going to game have over watching at home with good friends, better food, best booze and pristine restrooms on a 75" TV? Oh yeah, and I don't have to deal with traffic and random assholes.

Exactly, this isn't an LSU problem. Every venue in the country faces this same problem. And for those who say TS isn't what it used to be, I disagree. It's been as good as it ever is for every Bama game since 2010. Ole Miss 2014 was awesome. It just needs the right recipe to be as good as ever. Unfortunately, we haven't played at a high enough level or won enough big games for it to get there in recent years.

I've had my seats in the EU since 2001. Even then they only had a $50 per seat TAF fee on them per season. A few years ago, they dropped that too.

As for the $225 for both...yeah, those days are over and they should be.

There are many reasons why it isn’t what it used to be. Mostly it’s technology that’s advanced just in the last twenty years. People are content to watch the game at home on their high def tv while on their smart phone. Cell reception(at least when we had season tickets) was terrible and you couldn’t share the experience with year friends which is what a lot of people want to do nowadays.

That and overpriced concessions, shitty toilets, and packed seats in scorching temperatures

I'm with Rouge, besides the fact I don't live in LA anymore, it is REALLY hard to beat an AC house, huge TV's, unlimited liquor / food / restrooms, surrounded by people you actually like / invited to enjoy the game with and no parking / traffic to deal with.

I loved to tailgate and go to games as much as the next person, but with the exception of a few games, give me the above treatment any day.

I heard today on "After Further Review" that Alabama has sold out only the Auburn game this year. Other schools are selling fewer tickets compared to previous years. I think many fans can't justify the expense and hassle of attending games in person when compared to the ease and relative comfort of staying home and watching every game on TV.

TV

Poor scheduling (Cupcakes are fine, dont even care as much as others about the instate cupcake question, but the neutral site games hurt, IMO fine 1 in 3-4 years, but every year or every other year, Alleva is just whoring us out to keep the job. (Merton and Adam Smith still undefeated)

Skyrocketing associated costs and decreased quality all around, from concession quality/price all the way to tailgating spots and even the greek issues and everything in between. Administration does not care about anything but the bottom line, and that would be easier to stomach if the product on the field would reflect it.)

Apathy with poor coaching and scheme, the style of just being more athletic and physical (O and Miles) is again stomachable if your are rolling up the bad teams every time and competing every single year for championships either the SEC or natty. But we are not currently and the product if you are not very good is boring to watch (Still boring but atleast you can brag), and the atmosphere gets worse and worse as frustration turns to anger as no matter how much talent/depth is added same result when it matters.

Leaving early- IMO this is a very very small issue but threw it out there, students will stay and be crazy if the team was up to the standards and excitement most our age grew up actually watching. Yeah social media doesnt help for some its something to post that you were there but the vast majority love the team. Also regulars leaving to beat traffic, like the students has always happened, does the ineptitude at times of the traffic plan sometimes not help, yep but it doesnt make that much of a difference.

Boils down to one thing basically relates to every area, the theme people want what they pay for or at the very least some recognition (which we will never get) or change that we know it has a chance of getting better. Nobody is naive anymore, college football is not big business its huge, its minor league NFL for a place like LSU, we just have the added benefit of baseball, mens basketball, and lesser sports that dont lose as much as other schools which is very good.

The thing I personally absolutely hate the most is the attitude of Alleva and Alexander, thats my main gripe. I am just starting out on the pay for points, and young alumni crap, and looking with a small group of where we want to try and sit. At this point have just stopped until there is a resolution. Everyone knows its now a business, when Alleva year after year brings in more money and gives back to the school thats great we are one of the few, but because of that up until this point has been untouchable and lock stop with FKA. Every year Alleva will jack up more prices or find a way to further monetize every single minute aspect of gameday, then FKA will follow shortly thereafter with his tin cup out like a bum under the interstate and ask for more. The product and trajectory the last 5 years what does it look like?

Both have basically made it to there respective pinnacles of profession, AD of one of the Top-5 athletic departments IMO based off of finances, major sports tradition hell even now the minor sports, and fan passion/brand. Prez is at the helm of a huge research economic engine that is one of the few land, space, sea grant all the bells and whistles of a flagship public state university, and further more in charge of an LSU system that compared to most is actually quite big and unique.

They are rats on a ship, when it gets bad both will jump and land softly. Alleva with his relationships and previous stops can get a cushy AD job at small private university on the east coast and retire. FKA is the typical higher ed liberal who studied at Oxford and UWisconsin, and was the president at Murray State (KY), Long Beach State, and LSU. Those people stick together, basically anywhere in the continental US he will have contacts and can retire at quiet public university in small town somewhere, that is small and pretty but the heart of liberal higher ed.

My rant

I was at LSU in the early 1970s, and the Tigers were stellar at home. They went 24-4 at home during that time, and the atmosphere was electric! I don't recall anyone leaving early, even though a few of those games were Tiger blowouts, and all games sold out then. That was the era of Bert Jones, Hamilton, Casanova, Brad Davis, Binks Miciotto, Louis Cascio and lots of great football.

There's no good reason why LSU football has fallen out of favour.

I get that you fill some time but the band should be leading the atmosphere. Not bitch I'm from Louisiana and whatever other random rap and pop shite they want to throw in there.

I dont think you all realize TGBFTL is one of the largest bands in the SEC and yet, in the opposite end of the stadium you cant hear them. I love what they play and the traditional stuff they do for the game situations but theyhave a hard time fiiling the place with music now.

As for the piped in music, bama played a lot of it but it is popular stuff that appeals to most all. Their band played a lot too but whatever they played piped in had the crowd rockin.

1970 to 2018

Compare TV and its effect to the game today, compared to how TV effected the game in 1970.

era of Bert Jones, Hamilton, Casanova, Brad Davis.....

This is the era of Peterson, Fournette, OBJ/JL, Guice, Mathieu, Hunter, Adams, and D. Jones.

Maybe its the leadership or lack there of all around?

damn truth...if people don't want to go, then they should just stay the frick home. It just puzzles me as to why people would pay so damn much money to sit there and complain for four hours.

I gave up season tickets over 10 years ago in the sez because of the constant yapping of ads from the pa announcer. It became unbearable. Gave them up. Get rid of the constant ads and let the bands play. And lastly and probably most important, play only night games. Tell cbs and the sec to plan around you. Okay nights only. That’s the magic. Even if you had to leave the sec.

Not helping the cause of making south ms LSU supporters seem sane or sober.

Know I shouldnt but gotta ask, if LSU had to leave where would we go?
