Signability. A team actually called him in the 2nd round but he told them not to bother because he would be attending LSU

That's awesome.

Hah. Yeah. I was thinking 5th round, but the 5 came from the 5 million he got. Whoops.

Cechinni is a good example. Drafted in the 4th round and got first round money

I know Bregman isn't big so does he have the bat speed to hit for power or just different bats?

I just have a gut feeling that we'll see Gallo at LSU. I don't know why, I just feel we will.

He plays in altitude. Not saying he doesn't have power, but his numbers may be inflated.

That video where he hits 14 homers in four minutes was shot in Miami.

The kid has a gorgeous swing. He can hit it out.

Good article on how MLB teams are drafting in rounds 6-10 in order to sign their top picks.

I figured that wasn't in NM. I was referring to his HS stats. Any other stats would be more indicative of how he will perform, because they don't do any big tourneys or anything in New Mexico.

I don't think power is going to be a big part of his game. He may eventually max out in double digit HRs...but I'm thinking a .350+ type hitter with gap/doubles power primarily, 6-8 HRs.

It's strange that he didn't homer in his first two years of high school, then broke the state record as a junior.

I think it is a pretty safe bet the rest will make it at this point, unless they have some kind of situation we don't know about and decide to sign for peanuts.

I really like the upside of Reynolds, Sewald, and Newman. And LaMarche is a guy coming off TJ surgery who has a big time arm, but has to work on his command and secondary stuff. He didn't pitch in 2010 or 2011, and only a few innings this year. Dunn may turn him into a monster out of the bullpen.

Based on the way Sewald was used in HS this year, I hope that either he's taking the summer off, or we red shirt him next year to give his arm a break.

Definitely. I'd let Dunn develop him some more then break him out in 2014 as a RS-Freshman. No reason to use him next year. Our pitching should be fantastic again. His arm needs a break.

Is this based on the Jesuit game or did the coach have him throw 120 pitches every outing?

Realize that things are still fluid and yet future, but can anyone comment on how this class shapes up against PM's other classes?
