Twins. They picked him and Bechtold, and then traded for Pearson. So they have 3 guys from that recruiting class in their system.

It’s hard to be mad seeing the haul we got last year. Marceaux, Hill, and Henry could easily be our rotation next year. That has the potential to be the best rotation in the country.

That rotation could have probably led to a nice run into Omaha this year. The whole key to next season will be the health of the starting pitchers. Healthy starters all year, and we might get to see the type of season we thought we would this year. Fight through injuries again, and it'll be much of the same.

At this point, I'm just going to temper my expectations on what we get out of Hill next year.

Day 3 kicks off in a little bit. 30 more rounds, they will be flying through them.
As a reminder, the first $125k of a signing bonus for picks going forward does not count against the bonus pool.

So is it that the top 10 rounds carry more weight than today in terms of kids signing? I'm not too familiar. Could you etmli5? TIA

Ever since 2012 the MLB has put a emphasis on creating a more level playing field in how bonuses are handed out. Because of this the top 10 rounds carry a pool of money to be allotted. Teams can use the money however they want to but anyone not signed that team loses that slotted bonus.
To simplify this teams now a days do everything they can to sign anyone in the top 10 rounds rather than drafting anyone and hoping to sign later. Teams can still draft players outside of the top 10 rounds and sign for way over slot (125k) but they must do so with the remaining money saved after signing players in the top 10 rounds.

They do. You lose bonus pool $ if you don't sign your top 10 round pick, so those are near locks to sign. Starting in rd 11, it's different.
But we aren't entirely out of the woods yet.

There goes Twanie! Round 12 to the Metropolitans

Duplantis to the Mets in round 12.
ETA: It's possible that he gets a higher bonus from being drafted today than he would have if he were taken yesterday.
Since they need to save so much for Matt Allen, he may not have come close to $125k yesterday.

Mets are going to draft every senior in this draft
And Duplantis and Magnum get to team up on the bus ride.

PP, what's your best educated guess how much Duplantis might sign for?
Posted on 6/5/19 at 11:26 am to Adam4848
Now they just need to take Ryen Olenik to complete the senior sign SECW OF trifecta.

I don't have a clue. My only guess is more than it would have been yesterday because of the amount exempted from the bonus pool.

I gotta hand it to the Mets they're taking a stab at getting two top 15 prospects and filling out the rest to ensure they do so. If both pan out they'll be very happy with this draft class.
