Is thedoc still spreading his propaganda.........Trees fall during hurricanes............Gustav was not a minimal 1 hurricane..........by the time it hits BR it will be a tropical storm..........

IT IS NOT GUSTAV AND IT WILL NOT BE AS BAD.........I've been in the damn storm since 1 pm yesterday in fricking uptown NOLA. I had power until 6am.........

It is not even half the beast wind wise of Gustav.

We will play this game.

And if you look at its current track it my past west of BR........its floating more north than west over the last 3 hours.

It will be hard to think outside the box on this one. North Texas does not have a true open date this year...they play one of those ridiculous Tuesday games, which means they must have both the Saturday before and the Saturday after off. If the game doesn't happen this weekend, I have no idea what can happen

BR is on the northwest side of the storm currently, and the track has been shifing to the east this morning. The storm was just downgraded to TS 25 minutes ago. There's a large pocket of dry air injecting the storm from the northwest and will continue to weaken it as it approaches BR. That's why NHC projected it to be at 55 kts by the time it gets here around 7 tonight. That was the prediction circa 10 AM though, so we'll see.

Exactly where we don't want it to pass. Of course at this point the exact track really doesn't matter....baton rouge will be battling this storm for the next 12+ hours regardless.

I like Doc a lot and respect his opinion but I also respectfully disagree with the amount of damage that will be done. Main roads should be mostly clear or able to be cleared. I feel like most of the dead or weak shite was removed in Gustav.

All I am saying is Gustav was a bad storm for BR and the winds were not that much different than this one

Gustav had waaaay stronger winds. I have already ridden out Isaac and Gustav and Gustav was way worse. Not even close. BR saw 90 mph gusts in Gustav. They will probably see 60 mph gusts in Isaac. The force equation due to wind contains the velocity CUBED (I think). So 90 mph is like three times as bad as 60 mph (one of you MEs check me on this). Also, knuckleheads are exaggerating how long this will go on. The storm is moving and BR will see it's last tropical storm force winds before sun up tomorrow. Virtually all power will be restored in BR on Friday.

Would you be happier if they posted their opinion rather than what they thought?

Force is a function of the square of the velocity.

F=(.00256KZKZTKdV^2}Af

V= velocity

Just keeping it real

This is what it took to get the game played in 2005:

LSU wants to host North Texas on Oct. 29, which is an open date for the Tigers but no one else. North Texas is currently scheduled to host ULM on Oct. 29, but the idea is to move that game to Nov. 19. Only ULM and ULL are currently scheduled to play on Nov. 19 in Monroe, but those two schools have been asked to move that game to Nov. 26. ULM and ULL do not have games scheduled on Nov. 26

That move was contingent on North Texas having an open date later in the year which they do not have this year. I see zero chance of the schedule being moved around this year. If you got nothing better to do, figure out a solution.
