I would love to have watched a high school game in the middle of Isaac! Now that would have made for a football game..

No shot in hell this gets played Saturday. Within 45 miles of Baton Rouge you have towns that are completely underwater. You have around a million people without power in s Louisiana. They're not going to want tens of thousands of people clogging the roads.

I disagree with that.

I disagree.

Mike Seidel is in Baton Rouge right now, he was just live on the air on the Weather Channel and said, "the LSU Tigers, hosting the North Texas Mean Green on Saturday. All systems are go but the practice scheduled for today was canceled."

Give me Sunday at 6:00 if there is a pool. People don't realize the resources it takes to staff an LSU football game...like police and security. I think a Saturday game stretches our police force thin. There will still be work that needs to be done Saturday that needs their attention. Take the extra day...let's catch our breaths, get ready, dry out, clean campus up and make sure it is functioning, and be 100% ready on Sunday.

TWC and Wafb said that Isaac wasn't what they expected, they expected more from Isaac. I think this game is a GO.

It will be fine. I'm 15 mins from the stadium and the rain and wind has all but already stopped here. I still have power and even cable. This storm will be out of here by late tomorrow giving near a day and half and even into Saturday morn if necessary. The game is getting played.

Glad to hear that. I am in Central and from what I am seeing at my house the storm is basically over. This subsidence of wind has been like this for at least 5 hours. Just when the storm got closer and I was braced for the worst it has just gotten calmer an calmer.

I'm sure LSU knows that and considers that.

It'll be a great way to just "decompress" after the past couple days here, for me, probably more so for y'all in BR or near NOLA.

glad to see people finally coming around from the majority of "NO WAY this gets played"

"I know all about hurricanes"

This storm in land was weak as hell. Yes the poor people towards the coast got crazy flooding, but the winds and damage here was nothing like hurricanes of the past.

Doc- Did you ever even lose power?

Winds in BR are listed as 21 MPH. Entery work was suppose to start when winds dropped below 30. Does anyone know is they are working or restoring power in BR area? Anyone seeing their trucks?

My guess is that game will be played. BCS implications if game can't be made up.

I was on the road quite a bit yesterday. From campus area, down I10 and I12 and many other areas of town. Roads were open and really saw only a few trees down. I know east and south of Baton Rouge got significantly more damage/flooding, but I think game will be held based on what I saw throughout Baton Rouge.

I'm pretty sure the people near NOLA whose homes were underwater will give two shits about LSU vs N. Texas.

I think a lot of people were expecting worse, including me, because the wind speeds they kept giving were offshore wind speeds and not onshore speeds. I assumed the Max. sustained winds were around the eyewall. And as the eye got closer the winds actually decreased at my house.

Some people were saying BR hadn't seen the worst of the storm yet but it was much weaker by the time it got the eye close to BR.

You would think the idiots who's full time job is weather would do a better job of informing their viewers.

IF it's played, tailgating will be really limited.

Do you think LSU "discourages tailgating" like they did in 2008 (App. State game)?

In 2008, they wanted fans to come and go as quickly as possible and didn't want to add manpower to clean up. Seems like a similar situation with LA State Police and other agencies kind of spread thin.

(TigerWatch posted similar as I was typing)

play synchronized swimming instead ?? -lol

folks, it is only a game and while we have all had withdrawal symptoms for 8 months, when all is said and done, it is just a game.

Our thought and prayers are with you and with those who either have no power, or whose homes are flooded, etc.

We have been watching from afar and feel for you.
Hope your lives can get back to normal soon.
