I don’t think that’s the case here. What’s really the the situation is Marcus Allen is a superstar and Coach Rob is a good mentor and Coach in his prime. If anything it’s good exposure like it was mentioned to youths and their parents who respect both and he has a great relationship with them to have them around.
Things happen for a reason in life and O is proof of that and if anything he is happy it didn’t work for obvious reasons at USC.

I can still see in my mind that run when Marcus Allen was a Raider when he completely reversed field and went to the house.

They’re talking about John here. Not Tommie

I never saw it mentioned or if it was I missed it. After Joe’s Heisman speech he went down the line greeting the old winners. Marcus hugged him and you can barely pick up him telling Joe that his speech was better the season he just had.

It’s really cool, but most high school and college age kids don’t know who Marcus Allen and John Robinson are.

That's a shame.

Two legends of gridiron, are unknown by "wannabe legends" of the very same gridiron. It's time to fix that.

Mr. Allen gets my vote to step in... when Coach Robinson retires from winning so much.

Geaux Tigers!

I live in L.A., moved out here shortly after Katrina and been here ever since. I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to see USC’s football program in shambles. I remember I went to campus to check out the “tailgate” they brag about out here. I couldn’t even tell there was a game.

Those pricks were so arrogant about football that it’s beautiful to know we’re on top now.

i’ve never heard or read of anything disrespectful they’ve done or said to or about O.

they offered to retain him on staff (just not as head coach).

The head coaching job is what he wanted and proved that season as the interim coach that he deserved it. Even the players and fans vouched for him but Pat Haden gave Coach O a big arse so O told him to kiss his arse.

Seems unlikely he’d be flying cross country that much just to hang out with coach o/Robinson

If a close friend of yours was in a very successful position on a national spotlight, wouldn’t you be there as much as possible to support him?

He won a ring as head coach no way he’s caught up on getting passed over by a program in dumpster fire... just the fact that LSU posters think this is sad.
True dat. Not everyone is motivated out of revenge or bitterness.

This is another example showing we're a national program now. No recruit in the country is beyond our grasp.
LSU has been a national program now for some time, they're well known and respected throughout the country as a powerhouse program. People around the country really do know them as NFLSU, a NFL football factory. Winning this latest championship has put them back on that map nationwide after they have been missing for awhile now.

I don’t see it as petty, but as another chip in his pocket when he goes West to recruit. Pac12 is in disarray and O can walk into these kids homes and talk about winning and having Allen and Robinson in his corner (which will go further with the parent(s).

yeah, I'm not getting this USC has treated him like crap shite because that's the farthest thing from the truth. He's always been loved and respected at USC, Haden just didn't wanna give him the HC gig and sought to go in another direction. That's his prerogative as AD albeit a mistake after seeing what he's done at LSU, and I'm sure Haden knows it by now. But shite, let's be honest here though, a lot of people before this remarkable season still doubted the hiring of coach O and constantly said so. But now that he has made LSU a champion again all of that(the doubt and negativity) is gone.

No because the elitist filth in L.A. didn't like his accent & didn't want him at their country clubs.
Their loss.

Then you missed the news.

Article on reignoftroy.com by Alicia de Attila.(don't know how to post here).

It was discussed here at length.
Bruce Feldman had an article too .
O wasn't hired because the USC snobs didn't like his accent.
