Nussmeier was a horrible decision maker that costs us in key games.
Sure he was handicapped by playcalling and lack of run game. But he had too many inexcusable turnovers in big games to be labeled a good QB

Spending $6M+ on a player of *healthy* Nuss’ caliber would be horrendous roster management. Let’s hope he’s better than that. Even if it takes a few games for him to get his legs under him.

I'd take 2024 Jaxson Dart. Particularly since Levitt's style of play is more similar to Dart than Nussmeier. Yes, Dart had some bad moments in critical spots (most notably a meltdown at the end of the Florida game). But he led the SEC in passing and was the league's highest rated QB. Give me that plus a better defense than Ole Miss's 2024 unit and LSU is without question a CFP team.

Marcel Reed second tier? He can be really good, but i don't think he's consistent enough for tier 2.

Agreed, that comp would be more than enough for us to be a very good team

He’s only been a starter for one year. He was just as good as a lot of other QB’s. He was better last year than our current QB was in his best year. Whatever reason you have to think Leavitt will be good probably apply to Arch as well.

Yeah, I remember that well. I THINK Lester Earl was one of them BTW. He loves to "project" guys who aren't that highly rated as being future stars. I said at the time on this or another site that Rickie Collins has "0% chance to ever start an LSU game". He started a few games as Syracuse QB after the starter got hurt and STILL couldn't hold on to the job. I watched his HS highlights and they were just mediocre plays at best...and those were HIGHlights. Earl said the same thing about Charles Ross as some sleeper stud. The guy played special teams as a TR FR and made 1 tackle.
A few weeks ago he disagreed with me about Burney the WR commit. I said "he will never start a game for LSU". Then, he posted how his 40 time had improved from basically hideous to just slow for a WRer. Wasn't Wizard of Oz type stuff...offers are bad...rating is one of the worst of all LSU commits...highlights very pedestrian. If scholarships were more limited, I would call that a wasted scholarship.

We have all agreed that the OL could have been better...much better. 
Having said that, I saw some MAJOR flaws in his game. 1) he refused to run past the LOS which of course meant even on scrambles, the defense could run hard at him knowing he wouldn't try to get past them 2) his decision making was slow. I guess I was used to Burrow and Daniels but I really think that Nussmeier needed to utilize the VR equipment like those 2 did. I remember Daniels saying he even set the speed HIGHER than normal speed. My GUESS is Nussmeier never used such equipment.
