Nor does Nuss based on his ... single start in a bowl game.

Harris's arm talent was right there with Nuss. That's where the similarities end, though

Burrow and Nuss will have similar experience as first time starters.

I doubt that. Burrow had attempted 39 passes when he got to LSU and played 2018 in an entirely different offense than Nuss will. Nuss has 219 attempts with a LOT more game action. If Nuss only throws 16 TD's with 2900 yards in 13 games, we better have two 1000 yard rushers and a stout defense or we will have a shite season.

You think Nuss is in the same zip code As Burrow or Daniels????? Wrong.

Reading is hard.

The OP is just talking about pure arm strength. He’s not saying Nuss is just as good of a QB as Burrow and Daniels.

You say that, and I tend to agree. But it’s kind of funny… if you look at 2018, our defense was not elite. Slightly above average in the SEC. Our leading rusher was Nick Brossette who had over 1,000 yards but only 4.3 ypc. Yet we were a 74-72 OT game away from going 10-2 (6-2).

Arm strength has a lot more to it than just flinging it downfield.. both burrow and Daniels are far ahead of nuss…

Another dumb post to follow up the first one I see.

Precision and accuracy are what you’re referencing. Arm strength is exactly what the OP referred to: how far you can get the ball down field and how quickly you can get it there.

Nuss has above average arm strength, but the legend has outgrown reality.

Y'all are setting yourselves up to be disappointed.

Bert Jones and JaMarcus Russell. I haven’t seen an arm like that at LSU besides these two.

Yeah, but OP said best since when.

People keep saying Mett but Brennan also had a friggin cannon. He just never played.

I never saw Bert Jones play but I watched a lot of highlights, holy shite that guy was good. Belichick said Bert Jones was the best (or most talented) QB he’d ever seen, something along those lines. And that was 2+ decades after he retired.

I mean, Jamarcus had a stronger arm than Burrow or Daniels.

That's my answer, Nuss strongest arm since Jamarcus, who was probably the strongest LSU arm ever. Bert Jones is probably the other guy in the conversation.

Forgot about TJ Finley. That’s the correct answer. And also demonstrates why arm talent is so unpredictive of success as a QB. Arm talent for a QB is the equivalent of speed for a corner. Raises the ceiling, but not the floor.

I have told people since he got to LSU he reminds me of young Favre. Similar size, ball comes out screaming, zip on long ball, just enough ability with his legs to run around. But with that comes int's, forcing balls in tight coverage basically over confidant he can make any throw. Farve never changed and had hell of a career. So fans need to take good with the bad. Hope our defense can step up when he does throw int. This don't make him a bad qb just different. As long as he isn't 08' Jared Lee he will be just fine.
