LSU vs. Notre Dame

LINK

LSU 28 - Notre Dame 8

John Ferguson and Walter Hill were on the call...

Notre Dame in the SEC would be so much fun.

Was there. Crowd was incredible. So much hate for Notre Dame back then. I remember Casanova totally shutting down Notre Dame’s All-American wide receiver.

I was there. 13 years old. Tiger Stadium held 67,500 people back then but rarely have I heard the stadium louder. That was a game for the ages.

EDIT to add: John Ferguson GOAT.

Same here. What a great time to be exposed to LSU football. Tiger Stadium at night was truly a special place to be.

I'll have some of that! North EZ next to the tunnel. The stadium was loud two hours before game time. The ND hate was real.

Year before also a great defensive game. Notre Dame won 3 to 0.

I was there. It was pure bedlam. Never felt that much electricity since.

THIS. I pity the poor grasshoppers who think they know what LSU football was like back then.

Envious of you guys who attended the game.

As a young guy, I saw the game on TV with a bunch of crazy Tiger fans. I came away thinking that LSU must truly be special.

That feeling has stayed with me my entire life... I'm so proud to be an LSU grad and supporter. Geaux Tigers!

Thing I remember the most…ND had the ball 1st and goal from the one in the North end zone…and did score! One of the best games I ever saw in Tiger Stadium. And the next year…the Ole Miss game!

I don’t know about others but I think it’s pretty bad arse that we have so many on here who were either at the game or remember it vividly.

I was at LSU in the late 80s and I only knew about the ND rivalry because a neighbor stuck a ‘Tigers Eat Irish Stew’ bumper sticker on my car.

The fact that Norte Dame won the previous meeting in South Bend on phantom pass interference call on Tommy Casanova that set up the game winning field goal made the game in Baton Rouge that much bigger.

Not really surprising was it? Most of the time even BAD Teams can score with 4 shots from a yard out?
