Not concerned with the run game at all.

The 3-3-5 stack is a very weird defense to run against. Really only 3 down linemen but it’s an assortment of guys walking up and blitzing any given play. Was giving the O line fits but it was great because it’s not the last time they’ll see that look from a defense. Miss St. runs this front as well

If it is so great, why don't all teams use it?

Exactly this. It appears to work because it is relatively rare. This is the counterpart of the triple option offense.

Teams adjust to it and run outside.

The 3-3-5 is the worst base defense imaginable vs the run. It's inferior to a 4-2-5 in every way, you only run it if you lack the personnel to run a 4-2-5
And La Tech uses 2 5 techs at DE. Imagine what Georgia would do with their 3-4 with the 3 tech at DE

If you cant block la tech D lineman you aint got a prayer against TAM, UT, Bama, etc... Leavitt isnt good enough to win without a running game.

Miss St runs a similar scheme or did during their first stint with Arnett. The game against La Tech will help us down the road.

We are 2 plays away from winning 59-7 and no one on this board would have had any concerns

2nd half was OK. 1st half was awful. 13 pts.
We either went 3 and out or went down the field and threw an interception, or ran straight into the guard's butt and settled for a field goal.
The red zone playcalling in the first half was worse than the Les Miles era and Joe Sloan era.

Because it was only effective against the interior run game. We still racked up 550 yds and 45 pts with 4 TO’s…

yes and throw against the 3 LB's.
those are the weaknesses being they want to stay in a nickel with 3 DL and 3 LB
most prefer a 4-2-5 as a base. now on long downs sure you go dime
4-1-6 or 3-2-6 dime or even a 3-1-7 dollar like auburn did in 2019

No rebuttal to this? Seriously. Which two plays were you concerned over? I'll tell you about 6 more.

If we didn’t wait till 3rd qtr to start running outside I don’t think it would have been that big a deal. We kept running up the middle against 9 in the box. I think Kiffen was trying to keep it as vanilla as possible but Tech has some good defensive players. That LB that transferred from LSU is very good and gave us issues last year also.

I could be wrong but wasnt LA Tech the 42nd rank defense nationally last year?
Theyre not a "horrible" defense. Looks like Ole Miss was ranked 48th......

I’ll rebut it for him. There is really nothing to rebut. He didn’t say he was only concerned about two plays. He said,

I think what he means is that if we don’t throw the pick 6, they score 7 less points and we score either three or seven. That makes the score 52-7. Then if you take away the other interception in the red zone we get another score.
So if we won 59-7 would anyone have concerns this morning? I don’t know; he says, “No.”

1st half was awful.
