He probably needs to hire a staff and have time to evaluate players, incoming recruits, etc. before being able to answer those questions in an educated manner

About the offense he said it's going to depend heavily on what players he has. He said some teams he's had the best way to win was with a running game and defense, and other teams he was better off airing it out.

But he did say they'll be fun to watch and that LSU would be aggressive.

My guess is you're looking at a balanced offense which stretches the field vertically, because every time he's had a QB with any kind of arm he's thrown it downfield a lot.

Defensively he's mostly been a 4-3 but definitely not exclusively. I think they might have played more odd fronts this year if I remember right.

He’s going to bring the run and shoot offense to Baton Rouge.

Who is the guy Kelly goes to for these big decisions? His Pete Carroll?

I hope we commit to running the ball again.

Still haunted by the two run, pass, pass, pass sequences late against Bama.

Will be interesting to see the direction he goes with the offense out of the gate.

He went from super uptempo, 4-wide vertical offense at Cincy to the more balanced, TE heavy offense at ND

Bruh. Let the man get a couple good nights of sleep and maybe knock off some trim first.

It’s been incredibly frustrating not being able to run the ball.

we had one of the best defenses in the SEC in the last month of the season once O got out of the way. stats don’t lie.

and that was with multiple starters out.

This year, Kelly has let Freeman the hell alone, so he's definitely willing to have a D guy do his own thing.

Offensively, recently hes let Tommy Rees call plays, BUT he definitely has a hand in creating an offensive vision.

o got more involved during the bye my brother

I am not sure where this silly narrative came from the head coach got less involved in a bye week before the biggest game of the season.

Fan fiction

We need a stickies thread about who designed the game plan for Bama and thereafter.

In fact, we revolt if he doesn't hire Callaway and Daronte. Neither is very good but we know their names!!!!

it completely slipped Scott's mind.

And the press guys were all too preoccupied with "cultural fit" and mistaking a north-of-mystic accent as a fake southern one to worry about such irrelevant questions because "fit" is waaaay more important than schemes to those "experts".

I wish somebody had asked, because it is a good question. I'm hoping the O is close to what he ran at Cinn. Like several above said, the asst. he hires will be the tale of the tape.

As for D... I'm guessing it will depend primarily on the DC he hires (and not the other way around like the OC). But no matter who it is, they will have to be multiple.

He's obviously going to take a good look at film and what he thinks is best to win in the SEC. And then he's going to have to look at the personnel (players) and see if he can run it.

The general framework and 'wants' was probably pre-established. But the finer points probably haven't been determined as of yet.
