“On top of that they need to just go with the original play call and go up tempo.”

This is correct, I’d add to have at least one check in case the look we’re getting is obvious. The difference between how we’ve looked before compared to now is that Burrow and Brennan could audible and check to the right play and if you go back and watch the games Max can’t do it or they don’t trust him to do it. Just rewatch UCLA, we were throwing into coverage and running against 9 man boxes. In this offense you can’t have your QB be a game manager like Max if he can’t make the right checks or adjust protections.

Very well explained. Now why in the hell can’t a coach making a hellofva lot of money figure out these basics! They are sitting on their asses due to low expectations from the man running the show.

Pretty much exactly what Orgeron is pressuring them to fix.

I agree also that it could be having some affect on their performance. Peetz has to do better in every dept, and helping the OLine helps everybody else do their job better.

Look up Garrett Nussmeier vs McNeese film study. This guy does a good job breaking down plays, unlike a number of guys who post stuff on YouTube.. Gets into the players having to squat in stance too long towards the end.

Then run up and run the damn play. If you are going fast you need to worry about how every defender is lined up. Don't give them the chance to adjust.

doubtful these QB's can audible like burrow did without OC help. other than checks to runs, some zone read, RPO, etc.

They should be forced to audible if necessary. It how the QB learn. Stop babying these QBs. Mistakes will be made but they have to learn.

I agree , Defense gets to fire off the ball with 1 to 2 seconds left!

Right. We should have the defense trying to figure out what we are doing rather than us allowing the defense to keep making us react to guys moving back and forth. Half the time the defenses get out of what they were in after we get the last signals in from the sideline. Meanwhile the defense gets to absolutely time their movements and blitzing because they can see the play clock winding down. At a minimum you have to be keeping the defense off guard by doing some quick snaps on random plays and running some hurry up on a couple of series.

every play before the ball is snapped, obv not the only reason but ffs their our weakest part of our team we should be trying to help them out as much as we can not making it harder on them

Another thing Nuss was better at was getting the team to hurry back to the line and getting the play in as fast as he could. However sometimes he wouldnt get the signal as fast as he should have. Max just seems so mellow and slow to get to the line

This check with me crap has to go. I remember early in the 2019 season we had those large cardboard signs on the sideline. But those signs disappeared sometime during the season.

Hurry up would have neutralized the UCLA blitzes or at least showed their hands easier for quicker calls.

I really think O, in his infinite wisdom, has handcuffed Peetz. He knows the guy hasn't called a college, or pro, game ever & he wants to be cautious & not let go of the reins too soon. IF that is the case,#1 then why the hell did you hire someone with no experience who you don't trust to do the job he's been hired, & paid a lot of money, to do? #2 If that is the approach, why not have Coach E sitting up in the booth with him helping him set up what he wants to do & calling plays?
That whole "Meerkat look at me" shite is doing nothing but wasting clock, confusing the offense, & allowing the defense to rest & sit back & figure out which vanilla play is being set up. It looks like O is micro managing his young & inexperienced coordinators to the point of hindering whatever capabilities to call a successful game they may have. He's in panic mode

Didn't he have some recruiting violations or problems?

Losing him when we did is the issue, not necessarily
Losing him
