This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board

Don’t most university still charge students an “activity fee” or something similar that subsidizes athletics?
I thought student tickets were in exchange for that.
Plus kill student tickets and you kill affinity of alums for those teams in the long run.

Disagree. You think students can afford these lunatic ticket prices? IMHO students should get in free to all school athletic events. With larger student bodies they can put a cap or limit on student admission via a lottery or game selections.

This has to be a troll

Cutting off nose to spite face.

Wow, i see a ton of dumb emotional shite on here but this is impressively dumb. I guess you don’t believe in home field advantage or think it’s a product of no travel or something.
Just for fun answer this. Where do the players run to when they need a boost? Hint: They run to the student section. That’s their classmates they care with the students think way more than the douche on the 50 yard line.

This is the dumbest idea I’ve heard in quite a while.

When I went to LSU it was like $80 for student tickets to all home games. Away tickets cost something in the area of $50 per game and you had to accrue enough tiger points to qualify. Every LSU’s athletics event I attended got me a set amount of tiger points.
Also freshman year was a lottery, if selected you get to go to something like half the home games and you pay half the normal ticket fee for the year

Students do have to purchase tickets. They're cheaper than the general public but they weren't free and are at limited supply, and as a freshman we could only get half season tickets and had to buy on the secondary market if we wanted to go to the other games. I'd imagine they're more expensive than they were when I was a student too.
And despite the NIL, the only reason college football is as popular as it is, is because of the universities. Otherwise minor leagues like the UFL would be wildly popular yet they're not. There's a reason the LSU Tigers would be ridiculously more popular than a Baton Rouge Bengals minor league team would ever be.

The best way for Universities to attract donors is to create an experience for students that inspires them to give back to the university.
The students' section is essentially a short-term sacrifice for long-term investment.

I hate to be a negative nanny, but I’m right about this and y’all know it. The distance between the university experience and the football games will only widen as the years go by. And, btw I did attend LSU. The current college experience has filtered down to online classes, Instagram, TikTok, ChatGPT, Tinder, and Sports Center. You cannot tell me I’m wrong about that.

This might be the dumbest post I have ever seen on this site, which I guess is an accomplishment. I’m proud of you.

Needing ChatGPT to articulate an argument for you is beyond sad

I hope your other 436 posts were not this awful

You spent your discretionary free time on a message board designed specifically for the exchange of options and thoughts and used artificial intelligence to form your opinion.
This is the equivalent of joining a country club and having a robot play golf, socialize, and hang at the pool on your behalf. Does ChatGPT have you sit in the hotel cuck chair as well?

I could have said nothing about ChatGPT but I did not. The degree to which some of you react almost violently to any comment is pretty sad. The name calling is immature and there is no place where it should be acceptable to do so, and particularly in a public forum like this. You need a good mouth washing.
