On a separate note, the lego bricks up top are not a finalized project. They are concessions and restrooms, but there are plans to address their aesthetics in the future

This question isn't necessarily pointed at you but what's the reasoning for not addressing their aesthetics as construction is actively happening. I mean, they put a facade on the two on the ends. I cant imagine its that much of an undertaking to match the others.

The info I got wasn't confirmed from sports properties, so I can't say that it's 100%, but my understanding was a portion of the LED ad space in the past is being given back by one sponsor, not all of them

So unless Coca-Cola gave back their ad space we won't notice a big difference... Sounds like people are getting overly excited for nothing.

Look at this picture. the only space on the LED that will be taken up by ads is the parts on the sides that have the LSU logo

If Cauble's report is accurate, then the video board on the north end zone is only losing approximately 4 ad spaces. The video boards in the south end zone add a total of 8 new ad spaces, which results in a net addition of 4 ads in the stadium.

But gaining a ton of screen real estate. Why do people give a shite about ads on the side of the screen if they bring in money.
I get being mad about ads on the screen taking up 50% but jesus christ.

Yeah this is wrong. You are completely ignoring the one season where the south scoreboard was torn down to make your point. The south scoreboard had ads on it as well.

There arent additional ads.

Because using LED space that could be used for dynamic stats or other gamecasts for a static ad that offers no information and doesn't enhance the fan experience in any way isn't just wasteful, it's stupid. Go to Auburn and look at how they use their side LED boards. You have quarterly stats, down and distance, conversion percentages, drive summaries, other games of interest etc. LSU has Drink Coke. If you want static adds, do what they have already done, use a lighted sign. Don't take a piece of equipment that costs thousands of dollars and could be useful to the in game experience and reduce it to a lighted sign that costs a fraction of the amount.

Here is a picture of what they have at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Keep a few things in mind, the ads that are pictured aren't always on static, they put useful information in those quadrants throughout the game as well. Also their board is bigger than the one in the NEZ.

Much more useful. Hopefully, LSU will get more use out of their scoreboards.

What percent of the video board(s) will be static ads? 0%?

are you asking about the SEZ boards? the video portion wont have any ads. under the LED will be static ads.

Exactly. The problem wasn't that there were too many ads. The problem was that they were using video screen real estate to display ads thereby lowering the resolution of the video. The fans said "We want to see video on the screens, not ads." And that's what they did.

This.

I was hoping for an answer for all three video boards.

When people say LED screens are they talking about the screens to the left and right of the NEZ video board?

If the AD admins really are reading the Rant (which I doubt), let's make sure we don't give them any mixed signals.

And who is saying ours may not do the same?

Yes there are flaws but it's getting a lot better.

Also the NEZ video board is plenty big enough.

You asked a question. I answered it. The question was why would people care if the side-boards still displayed static ads. I explained why people would and should still care and what could be done with that space.

The better question is, given that explanation, what the hell were you responding to?

Who said it wasn't? If I understand correctly, given the condition of the NEZ and current technology, this is the biggest scoreboard that can be placed on that end.

That's not what Cauble said a few pages back. Those 4 spots under the SEZ LEDs are going to be used for time, score, stats, etc. It seems like they are going to utilize the ribbon boards for most of the ads.
