My understanding, and I think it was Choctaw that originally pointed this out, is that when they removed the old SEZ scoreboard, the ads that were on it had to go somewhere (because they were paid for) and the only place to put them was on the NEZ video board. It was a temporary measure only for the 2013 season and now things are back to normal.

Yes. LSU even SAID as much, people just chose to ignore it.

You by bringing up that Auburns is bigger.. What was the point in saying that if you think ours is fine?

That even though the show ads on their scoreboard, it's size allows them to still put a ton of information on the Board at all times. Ours is big enough to do something similar if we use the LED boards for non-ad information. It was pretty clear.

As to your other points, improvement is great. They should go all the way and you should be happy for them to do so. There are places for them to put stats, always have been. They don't do it, so you really have no point. I will take a wait and see approach on the ribbon boards, but we've had them for years and they basically show ads for the vast majority of the time. If that changes, great. Don't tell me there is a possible solution if the AD isn't going to utilize it. That isn't an argument, that's being dense. Finally, your preference is entirely irrelevant. If you don't want stats or other game updates, no one cares. Go to Georgia. During breaks they show other games on their video boards. My understanding is part of the SEC Network deal will be bringing that functionality to all stadia. That's pretty exciting. You shouldn't watch it though. If you wanted to watch TV you could stay at home.

It frustrates me that they don't too but I am talking about ads. People want them to get rid of them completely and truth is IDAGAF. They don't bother or distract me and if LSU is making money on it then I'm all for it.

That's awesome

I was talking about the need for the most massive HD screens that are unnecessary. Everyone likes a replay, but I don't need the screen to be so big that I watch that instead of the game. Get it?

Nope. I don't get it. I like big HD screens. I like information. I'm not opposed to ads, just put them on things that can't give me other information. I want the in stadium experience at Tiger Stadium to be great so that people will keep going and staying, so that LSU continues to have a huge advantage at home.

Any contract that could have any way been construed as to require constant static ads covering half of a HD video replay board is a stupid arse contract -- plain and simple. There really should have been a way to negotiate for an alternative to what they did.

Oh, well. Hopefully, it's water under the bridge.

It wasn't a contract that said they had to cover half of the LED board. It was a contract for a certain area to be covered by said company's ads.. therefore the easiest and most simple way to do it is to show it on the LED screen for the ONE SEASON it needed to be.

That shite wasn't just like that for one season, though. And what you're saying is only slightly semantically different than what I'm saying and only semantically.

Like I said, hopefully water under the bridge.

Agreed. I guess we just have different things that will keep us around.

Mine is giving me cell service so I can check my own stats and scores of the LSU game and others at will.
Give me the ability to text family who are watching at home that I want to talk to about what is going on.
I would rather everything be on my phone than on the scoreboard bc I want to be able to control it myself.

To each their own though.

lolololololol...

Holy shite...

People, the game will be down on the field in front of you!

If y'all are so concerned with watching the game on a screen, then just stay home.

Why do people give a shite about ads on the side of the screen if they bring in money

Yea, I love watching the reenacted slow motion replays the players do for us on the field.

You watch the replays that often? I mean, I get it for some plays, but that's not the point...

The point, is that you look up at the replay, then you look back down at the field. If you're staring at the board SO much that the ads are "affecting" your experience...then you're doing it wrong.

Gotta find something to do during the multiple 10 minute CBS TV timeouts.

I agree with everything you said.. my point from my post was that those who bitch about ads really have nothing to complain about anymore.. but then i realized i was on the rant..
