Can't say I blame him for his decision. Have a feeling as this becomes more common the push for a 16 or 32 team tournament will come to fruition. Maybe even two 16 or 32 team tournament with fans splitting into two divisions.
not happening.....likely 6, possibly 8
PERIOD
There are about 132 teams and you think 32 will be in a play-off ????

You people keep missing the point. If the players never miss a playoff game(meaning some PLAY TWO extra games) and never fail to participate. Then injury has NOTHING to do with not playing in extra games!!!!! Then it has to be they don't want to play in a bowl game!!!! NOT INJURY FEARS!!!
It isn't mutually exclusive
Playoff worth risk to most
bullshite bowl game not
How can you blame them

He shouldn’t have play any this season if he is taking this mentality

I too believe that players that cop and out and dont want to play the bowl games are selfish pricks. Theyre copping out on their team.
Love when a bunch of pot bellied middle aged white dudes pretend to know how a team full of players they’ve never met feel about the rumored actions of one of their teammates
Nice melt by the way

and on that same note,if LSU loses the bowl game because we had no DB's you will be screaming to get rid of the head coach!
Nope. We never should have hired O but I fully understand that he’s done a decent job thus far and isn’t going anywhere for at least another couple years. Losing a bowl game with a depleted defense won’t really sway me in one direction or the other.

More live reps in a big game atmosphere for players who will be on the team next year is important too
Yep, they definitely need it. Might be a positive thing.

Has this even been confirmed anywhere?

quote:well, because Bama, and more recently UGA, are in the playoffs. Greedy wouldn't sit if we were in the playoffs.
As I look across the NCAA, it seems our key players are more apt to do this than say....Alabama, Georgia, Florida, etc.
WHY???!!!???

When a university awards an education and all the benefits of developing a player, they should play to the end.
Did LSU make "Greedy Williams" or vice versa?
Greedy Williams would have been "Greedy", first round draft choice, if he had been at ULL. LSU would not have bee as successful without "Greedy".
He gave his all, for what? You don't appreciate what he gave?

Not that I’ve seen. How retarded would all these people look if he ended up playing?

those players who opt out for their own NFL stock, the players do not have a loyalty to the program and the HC.
Those players have done more for LSU than anyone posting here has. Get off your high horse. He came to LSU to get to the NFL. Playing in the bowl game won't help his stock.

Let's see, a chance to win a championship vs a game that doesn't mean anything. I guess you think this are the same thing.

If you put in your notice at a Job, arent you still expected to show up until you're done?
Bad analogy because, as we all know, these student-athletes are amateurs who receive no pay whatsoever. They play for free, so, it's, at best, Volunteer work, not really a job.

I love it when pansy-assed snowflakes like you pretend to know anything about anonymous posters on a website.
You're probably one of the douchebags that believe everyone deserves a participation trophy amirite????

But LSU gave much a MUCH bigger platform and level of exposure. The LSU brand is massive. He played in one of the most iconic stadiums in the nation. He gets the benefit of billions of dollars worth of top-notch facilities. He plays for the premier football conference. He has massive TV exposure. LSU and its players get massive media coverage.
So LSU gives players a huge leg-up over players from lesser schools. Yes, Greedy's talent is his own, but he benefited hugely from playing at LSU, as opposed to a lesser school.

A one player sample size makes for a poor argument basis.
It's one example where the guy lost tens of millions. Sure, it's a small chance that it will happen, but does the risk outweigh the reward?
Look at all of the injuries that have piled up over the last few weeks. I dont blame Greedy one bit for not playing.
