I too believe that players that cop and out and dont want to play the bowl games are selfish pricks. Theyre copping out on their team.

It seems like it’s overwhelmingly the old high school jock, baw contingent that has this point of view. Talking about owing the team and the school. It’s a little hokey.

If they get hurt and lose money, is the team or the school going to make it up to them? The answer is no.

This is a business decision. It’s funny that some young kids are exhibiting more business sense than a bunch of grown men on this board.

It's a buisness decision. Move on with your life. He was a great player and left everything he had on the field for LSU

bullshite...The LSU TEAM has another game, he has not left it all on the field as he has this ONE game left. He committed to LSU and they gave him an opportunity to become the first pick in the draft... You have one game left son! If you skip then Pull his school credits, which he might not give a shite anyway. Its not all about the $, its playing your final game with your teammates, for the university and the fans

Rabble rabble! Are you and your baws going to bitch during the game? It wasn’t like this in high school was it? Y’all played for each other, and it meant something.

Mo, if your wife or girlfriend meets a guy with a bigger package than you, I'm sure you will give her your blessings when she's spreading for him. Doesn't matter how much you've given to the relationship. He's just bigger than you and gives her more pleasure. He just makes her drip.

Some players value relationships with their teammates and coaches. Some just drip at the thought of dollars. Seems you're a dripper.

and on that same note,if LSU loses the bowl game because we had no DB's you will be screaming to get rid of the head coach!

Get used to this.

As CFB makes it clearer and clearer that they will only protect the safety of the players on certain teams, you will see more big name players from the lower tier schools do this, especially after they know they will be eliminated from playoff contention.

Smart move by Greedy, especially after what he played through Saturday night.

I’ll allow Greedy to pass.

His family’s future looms large. Relax Francis.

I get you are upset, but this statement is likely more true than you think....

Just for reasons you are thinking.

A five hour plus game takes a toll on your body. You are much more prone to injury during that time. Players on both teams were lucky the injury bug wasn't worse.

Greedy played through that only to have the game taken away multiple times. I knew from his comments after the game that was likely his last game. I don't blame him at all.

I wouldn't put my health and wealth on the line for the NCAA either if I had millions on the line. CFB is proving more and more to be like WWE. At least next year if Greedy's team has a game stolen, he will be getting paid.

I know reality is tough to deal with, but this will happen more and more due to the obvious media bias in the sport toward just a few teams. NFL draft picks on the "other teams" will just start cutting their careers short to stay healthy. I don't blame them.

Gutless cowardly little girls.

Your insinuations are thinly veiled......those little girls are sitting out because of the brass balls that put them in 1st round grades.

Besides, they’d easily bust your arse

The playoffs have made all other bowls irrelevant. It’s the sad truth. They need to go to a 8 team playoff and eliminate all other bowls.

Cuck? I had to Google that.

A simple thing most of the idiots on here should remember and something these self entitled young men need to learn is you never quit on your team.
Im sick of these young kids coming to college getting expensive scholarships to attend school, get an education and play football. You signed on with LSU for the length of that scholarship. You earned a spot on the football team. You became a star. And now becauae you want to go pro you start skipping games so you dont get hurt. What about your team. What about the fans that supported you. WhT about your school.
You all need to wake the frick up. In the military when we join we are there until the end. We aee things thru no matter what happens.
Greedy needs to grow a pair.

I bet you really value your relationships with your former teammates, huh? Jimbo is now a 43” waist, but you think it looks good on him, and let’s face it, your fat wife is the same size. You’d do anything for Jimbo I bet. Y’all get together and reminisce about those Friday nights playing Parkview. He had your back, and you had his. I bet you still do.

In my honest opinion, and Greedy is not hurt, those players who opt out for their own NFL stock, the players do not have a loyalty to the program and the HC.

Why whenever these kids make a business decision dumb asses want to throw around words like loyalty and honor. frick that shite this is business. Loyalty does not pay the bills. Does any fortune 500 companies respect loyalty when they make decisions to improve their business?!

quote:

Mr. Orgeron needs to explain this development, IF GREEDY IS OPTING OUT OF BOWL FOR HIS OWN GAIN.

Or he can keep his fricking mouth shut and worry about coaching the damn team. I am sure recruits are going to line up to play for a coach who tries to brow beat players for doing something to ensure their future. No coach is never ousted for leaving a team for his own gain.

quote:

When a university awards an education and all the benefits of developing a player, they should play to the end.

If the players were compensated with the millions of dollars that the universities rake in from their performance, I am sure they would be more "loyal" to the university.

You people keep missing the point. If the players never miss a playoff game(meaning some PLAY TWO extra games) and never fail to participate. Then injury has NOTHING to do with not playing in extra games!!!!! Then it has to be they don't want to play in a bowl game!!!! NOT INJURY FEARS!!!
