LSU hasn’t even received a notice of allegation lol. Wade and Smart were both cleared over 2 years ago of these same rumors that continue to be recycled by the media, nothing new has even been alleged. ESPN, Dick Vitale and Pat Forde have no power to investigate LSU and they’re the only ones pretending like this is happening other than the gullible fans who believe whatever they read on the Internet.

Dude. You’re not that naive right?

Me saying that it's illegal for a coach to offer players money is not me saying that I think coaches don't offer players money. Maybe reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

The NIL is already being violated by a lot of these deals

When did I say anything that even suggested how I felt about if NIL was being used properly or not?

I simply pointed out to the OP that the claims against Wade had nothing to do with NIL. They are two different things.

You think coaches aren’t using NIL to arrangement for payment of players?

Fixed.

Espn hit piece from a year ago. LSU has not received any notice of allegation. The alleged documents are nowhere to be found in that article but they continue to quote a twice convicted felon which is the actual source of all these smear articles.

Keep dreaming. They're not gonna retroactively apply a new rule to an investigation that began before the new rule was put in place.

Why would they? It would be like charging someone with possession of marijuana after it’s legalized even if the ‘crime’ happened before it was legal.

The investigation will continue to cost money for them to maybe penalize a guy for doing something which is now ok. What’s the point?

Some of you really need to look up what NIL is.

The point is that if NIL were in place the “strong arse offer” would just come from a middle man business. Technically what Wade potentially did is still against the rules but it it’s so easy to get around that it’s essentially ok. Like you think Bryce Young just suddenly started getting money for being a prize recruit? $800k+ for a guy that’s taken a few snaps. No, it’s just now the bagmen can be out in the open.

Boosters can pay player as long as it is set up to comply with NIl. Cant say here is 10 grand to sign.

Can probably say when you come here I will give you a sponsorship deal for my company to use your NIL for advertising for 10,000

None of that is relevant. The point remains that if they had strong enough evidence against Wade, nothing with NIL would save him.

The fact is also out there that it's been years since all of this started, and not a damn thing has happened yet. You would think that if they had some strong evidence then the hammer would have been dropped.

You would have trouble finding a stronger Will Wade supporter than me on this board. I don't even care what happens, I want Wade still coaching at LSU. I think he's the best coach on campus. Me feeling that way doesn't change the fact that this OP is flat out wrong by saying one is like the other.

For starters, what Wade allegedly did will remain against the rules.

Let's say that's true. Do you believe that the NCAA will no longer exist before they make a ruling on the case against LSU? That's the only way that what you posted would be relevant.

He said nothing has new has been alleged since over 2 years ago when Smart was cleared to play. Since then NCAA documents have reportedly said that Wade arranged payments to 11 players. What do you call that?

NCAA enforcement officials say LSU basketball coach Will Wade is suspected of offering or providing “impermissible benefits” to 11 prospective recruits or people associated with them.

Even if they rule but then aren't around to enforce it, does it matter? They have bigger concerns right now and, frankly, bringing the hammer down on a large school when those large schools are angling toward getting rid of them entirely would probably not be the best move, just reminds them why it is in their best interest to leave the NCAA and run it themselves.
