LSU wins out and wins SEC championship game.

Alabama’s only loss is to LSU

Does CFP take one loss Bama over two loss, SEC champ LSU?

Edit to include- Penn St, TCU and Clemson win out

That's not a nightmare situation to me. Would be quite happy with things overall if that happened.

Yes they will. And everyone knows it.

They aren’t taking a team that lost to Troy over a one loss Bama.

Alabama has been dominant enough that they can afford a loss, even if it comes in the SEC Championship or prevents them from winning the division.

Well, they might also have wins over two undefeated top five teams.

Ideal scenario is LSU wins out and wins the SEC.

SEC is left out of playoffs.

Because that would be funny and I like to watch the world burn.

This is kind of why we went to the new format, to assess teams for where they are and how much they've gotten better. At the moment, not many if any teams have signature wins that rival the turn around in the LSU game. We would get the tie breaker over Auburn and BAMA and put it all on the line against a possible rematch with UGA.

I think they would have to look hard at this situation. One of the others might be left out before the SEC Champ. Bama would be the 2nd team in from the SEC, not the first. That would go to the champ that played while Bama watched.

Interesting to see how this teams follows up the gritty last 2 weeks. They've either discovered how good they can be, or they've hit their ceiling.

LIsten..we could get matched up with UTEP in the godaddy shitbrick bowl...

But if we win out I would be happy with this entire season. Just to put a frown on 7 SEC fan bases head is enough for me to be satisfied.

Even IF bammer goes and wins the NC. At least we will know they lost that one game to us.

they would have to blow out an otherwise undefeated Bama AND UGA by like 30+ each for that to even be remotely possible

You just now waking up to this?

To get there LSU would have to beat #10 (check), #1 away, another top 15-20 team, and likely #2 (nuetral site - haha).

Teams being Auburn, Bama, aTm, and UGA.

The Committee could not ignore that performance and there is no arguement to take Bama over us if we had beat them at their home. The more dangerous overrule may be UGA if they only lose the SECCG and would likely be ranked over Bama at the time of the SECCG...

This is the same situation that happened in the big 10 last year. Penn state lost a couple games early. They beat Ohio state to win their division in the Big 10. Penn State then went on the beat Wisconsin in the Big 10 championship game. Ohio state only lost one game (to PSU) but they were chosen to go to the playoffs over PSU (Big 10 champs).

The committee made it clear that conference championships don't mean as much as regular season record. Hell even head to head didn't hold up.

But in this scenario, LSU would have wins over a number one, Bama, in the last third of the season, and a presumed top three, Georgia in the last game. If the committee is supposed to look at improvement and how a team is playing at year-end, that would be hard to discount.
