It was referred to as a "Coaches decision" whatever that means.....someone else will have to elaborate.

I hope whatever it is doesn’t put his standing with the program in jeopardy, I think he can be a big contributor next season.

I agree. Still, this doesn't look good. The "Coaches Decision" part has me worried

What's roster size limit for the tournament? I'm guessing he wanted to bring another pitcher with Hilliard, Labas, and Storz out.

We have a limited number of roster spots to travel. Maybe we needed his spot for an extra pitcher.

With the amount of guys we have out, you'd figure he would have traveled just fine

That was my initial thought as well but from what I remember when CPM leaves home a position player to bring extra pitching for whatever the reason is, he usually has come out and said that specifically.

Well I saw Hilliard in the pictures getting off the plane so he traveled for sure. If it's a roster limit issue why bring pitchers who aren't gonna pitch?
ETA: what LSURussian said below. Didn't realize they weren't ruled out until yesterday's practice.

Judging by CPMs choice of verbiage in regards to Hilliard and Labas, maybe there's still a slight chance he can throw? If it came down to Hilliard vs Webre, we would need Hilliard before we needed Webre.

Probably didn’t want to risk deciding to PH him instead of Reid again, resulting in another 3 pitch strikeout. Eliminate the risk

The hope was they would be pain free but it didn't happen.

Did the same to Kramer Robertson one year.
He came back motivated.
