He did try to. But LSU couldn’t tell Les Miles to kick rocks so we ended up with the grass eater instead of a dynasty.
Absolutely, It’s so easy to look back and say we should’ve fired Miles and just hired Saban. Ole revisionist history

Saban did not start his career at Alabama in a grand manner by losing to ULM and five other teams and the fans were grumbling and the Mayflower trucks kept showing up at Saban's door and many started looking for Shula's phone number trying to get him to come back.
He recovered nicely and became the legend he is now.

. Everyone knows he cheated at Alabama.
I am so over this narrative. If you think there weren't bagmen at LSU who were giving $ to players you're being completely disingenuous. If you think him doing it is cheating but everyone else, and yes EVERYONE else in the Power 6 conferences were doing it is not cheating then you're hypocritical.

He is really high on Kiffin and LSU and it's good to se him go from Satan to Saban again.
Saban hasn't changed. He's the same guy. You just couldn't get over that he went to coach at bama until he wasn't the coach any more.

He’s always gonna have more of a love for Alabama than LSU. Hate to break it to yall. But he’ll always be considered as an Alabama football coach, not a LSU football coach. Les Miles is the best head football coach in our programs history.

Nick never chose to leave LSU... he has said many times that what he did to force him out of LSU was his biggest professional regret.

Of course, but Saban still denies it and has a "holier than thou" attitude about it when confronted.

Never hated him. Always respected him and never got the Satan childishness

Saban is like the dad who doesn't want his son to make the same mistakes that he did. He will be Lanes biggest supporter while he's here.

I think a lot of men as they get into their later years in life appreciate the experiences that were ultimately where they found out who they really were and the all the people that helped them get to to the pinnacle.
We were Nicks first, he will never forget that. We are lucky

Because the bagmen were not associated with him or his staff. Plausible deniability.

Or maybe when he was stealing recruits out of La b/c some douche barber in Amite. or when he was laughing at us telling stories about the ditch diggers?
