Yea the question is, if we were sure he didn’t touch the plate, why is Jay making Collins go tag him? Just stand in front of the plate with the ball and even if he tries to come back he’ll be out if he wasn’t already for leaving the bases
I’m not sure you want to leave it up to this crew. You just walk over and tag him while watching the 3rd base runner.

It was bad across the board. Collins had zero situational awareness lazily jogging to tag someone he really shouldn’t have to, the umps screwed that up, and how in the world Travinsky drops that ball I have no idea. No sense of urgency and zero communication

These kids could not play better defensively

m not sure why they’d call time out there. Runner was still alive technically speaking.
Yep. Or ump could have called him out for giving himself up, or you just let him walk in the dugout and then he’s out.
A run scoring on that play should be impossible

Exactly. If the ump calls Washington out for missing the plate, out of the baseline, or giving up, then great. Just tag the plate and stand there. Both Washington and dude on third eventually had to show up there to do any damage.

Travinski could make up for dropping the ball here

as soon as he gave him self up, the play should be called dead...not continue indefinitely. dude was literally two steps from the dugout

Excellent base running? No piss poor management by this SEC. THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. Should’ve called that dude out the moment he was walking to the dugout.
Unless I’m missing something he was still alive.

Agreed, umps need to speak up and Jay just needs to let that guy walk to the dugout. I back Jay on a lot off his decisions, but it was stupid to advise his pitcher to go tag the runner.

SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW YOU SCORE THAT PLAY
If you’re Ole Miss’ scorer, it’s an E. Doesn’t matter who, just an E.

Jobert up, 2 outs
liner off the pitcher to 2B, out 1-4-3, inning over
