I fricking don't

He's paid to be an OC in a football programs with high standards,
and he's put a dogshit product on the field

He was hired to be OC. Not solely the underwood plug

Sloan has had a tough year.

I think he’s a passing game coordinator and/or qb coach.

OC is a bit too much for him.

From a pure coaching standpoint you’re exactly right.

Underwood did it for the money and was probably playing LSU all along to drive up the price from Michigan. I do feel bad for Sloan in that regard. It was going to be hard to get Underwood from his home state when the state school desperately needs him.

Now as far how the offense looks, you can't tell me that Underwood watched Michigan's pedestrian offense this year and decided, "yeah I want to play in that offensive system with those skill players". A bad as LSU's offense is this year is it;s been dynamic when compared to Michigan's offense this year. I'm sure Michigan probably promised him a new offensive coordinator with a wide-open system.

It happens in every industry. These guys know what they sign up for. How many individuals in Louisiana have a salary equal or greater than his. Put your big boy pants on and load up your u haul truck baw.

I do not. "His" recruit has fled making his presence on the staff no longer important.

He absolutely should’ve had a backup plan for underwood

I don’t see how that’s possible. What decent QB recruit would go along with that plan?
Maybe the backup plan was Hurley’s reclassification

If he could coach his way as an OC out of a wet paper bag, then maybe just maybe Underwood still comes to LSU.

Literally no reason to come to LSU with Sloan as OC after what he saw this season when he could get the extra money for probably the same coaching at that point.

Sloan doesn’t deserve any sympathy after he was given an undeserved promotion that was based on a kid he couldn’t even keep committed.

I think this is a little naive. For recruits like Underwood, the actual 17 year old is so far removed from being in control of himself it's not even a thing.

Sloan didn't get played by a 17 year old, Sloan for played by the 5 or 10 grown adult leaches who are manipulating the 17 year old.

Sure, the 17 year old is going to make the final call on paper, but let's not pretend he's doesn't have an entire entourage of people in his ear 24 hours a day who don't really give a shite about what he wants, but how to maximize what they can leach off of him.

How did it come down to LSU/UM for the #1 player in the country if the coaches are clueless ? Why didn’t any other big time school have a chance ? Did they see the price tag and say nope not worth it ? BTW UM’s offense sucks worse than ours so that couldn’t be the reason.
