If the personal account stuff predated his time here I don’t think that’s bad for us

You’re a huge loser.

Sorry your boy got fired but maybe we get that oral roberts star to bring us 15 wins a year!

After cutting a deal? I doubt it's even possible but the myriad of wrinkles that this would produce is fascinating. Heads would spin and teeth would gnash. I would love it for the entertainment alone.

Yeah, no, it would never happen. Still, it's an interesting idea.

You can’t be serious. Look I’m livid at Woodward but he has a plan (albeit one I don’t like).

There’s no way he canned Wade without gauging interest in the job by big names and finding it sufficient.

We will pay an obscene amount of money for a “splash” hire. Whether or not he can replicate WW’s success is another question entirely.

The practice was sloppy and disorganized and Days got frustrated and stormed off.

I will reserve judgement on this until LSU ends their run in the tourney, but this is not a bad move at all IMO.
Nickelberry is a solid recruiter, and likely will take the top few guys on our team with him if he leaves, so why not roll with him through the sanctions? We may end up keeping a few guys around who would otherwise be gone.
As I said, I will have a stronger opinion for or against this after I see how they play today and (hopefully) Sunday.

The NOA stated that LSU had already taken steps to address the football issues and firing Wade once the NCAA released their findings was about all Woodward could do up to that point. SW has completely overhauled the AD and football staffs, and likely to do the same with basketball. I don’t think the sanctions will be as bad as we think and can be gone in 2 years. He will be looking to hire the coach he wants with clauses that get them through the first two years with lower expectations due to sanctions and move on. No way a hire happens during the tournament, but as teams are removed more coaches are able to talk. I suspect SW had been having conversations with agents for a while now though.

I guess shelving the program ends any discussion about improving PMAC.

This should be where program building begins. If there are sanctions this would be the perfect time.

The more appealing the whole situation is for an athlete, the less you have to pay him. Get a guy to build a culture. Don’t go after the 5 stars right away. You can get guys quickly now. Come out of sanctions and renovations at the same time with a solid foundation then go after the big guys. (They can join your existing culture guys that may be 3 stars but will have experience within the culture.)

WW’s cult of personality lasts only as long as he’s the guy. He walks out the door, poof, it’s gone.

The next guy has to come with smoke and mirrors and make the LSU facilities and school commitment look NBA.

Rubbing a genie lamp and getting another WW (the good not the bad) can’t be the game plan.
