I agree with the O-Line. I completely agree with the defensive line. Are recruiting there the past two classes has been great. Now it's a matter of coaching them up.

Is it really recruiting or is it development. I would say the ladder is more important. Look at a team like the Badgers, they are turning 3 starts into quality players year after year.

The offensive line is absolutely just terrible. I am ready for Will Campbell to show up. Hopefully his attitude and leadership will get the others to step up.

The extra 7 spots over the 25 specifically designated for the portal guys could really help the new coach turn the OL around almost immediately. I think it was Hunt one day this week talking about one of the transfers Wade picked up this year. He had never heard of him, but he has his analysts grade every single player in the portal, and this particular guy—who had never heard of—graded as a potential All-SEC—guy. So he went after him.

One of the things that really encouraged me about the Jay Johnson hire if that I think Woodward is not simply going to hire a resume, he’s going to put a lot of stock into the interview, and he’s gonna want someone who has a clear vision for the program, a plan to achieve it, and an ability to easily and enthusiastically communicate it. I think the new coach should have a forward thinking plan on how to best take advantage of the the new portal and NIL rules on top of everything else.

You know, there’s this new-fangled thing called the transfer portal. You should look into it.

2 things I’m tired of hearing from this staff:

1. We’ve got to play better on the offensive line.
2. We’ve got to “simplify” things.

If the new Coach can get past these 2 situations, better days are coming.

T-Bob and Hester are talking about how Mel Tucker has used the portal to completely overhaul their roster and them around very quickly and now with the extra 7 spots now,
LSU can specifically fix the OLine almost overnight. So exactly what I said our new coach needs to have a plan ready to sell Woodward and then execute, Mel Tucker is already doing.

It is crucial we get a guy who, besides being a good coach, is forward thinking. Saban’s ability to see what is coming and not only adapt to it, but to take advantage of it to gain an edge on his competitors is a huge part of why they’ve been able to keep this unprecedented dynasty rolling. Most guys, especially at his age, don’t have the humility to change what they’ve been doing if it’s been working.

Gotta start with MUCH BETTER S&C. Without this you have nothing to work with period!!!!
You don't have to get in shape during camp. You practice technique and execution along with much less time trying to get into shape.

The way the rule is written it appears we can only take in transfers for players that enter the portal after Dec 15th. It won't give us credit for players who left last year, which is stupid since that is when most teams got hurt.

So if one of the QB's (Max or Nuss) transfer, we get one additional transfer in. Unless O or a new coach run some players off, that might be it.

The kids are leaving because there’s nothing left to play for. We find someone who gives them a reason to stay and they will.

I think Davis will get things right with the young guys. I also think a more experienced OC will scheme around the bad oline. Peetz just doesn’t have that.

Cregg and Davis have very different coaching styles.

How can you not blame Cregg? Someone has to be the fall man, and it was his responsibility to develop and recruit one side of the trenches.
