What tough defense has he played? The toughest D they played was moo state and you saw how close that was. Believe it or not our offense is better than moo state's. Im looking at a 30-10 LSU victory. Auburn doesn't have a passing game. Even against Arkansas horrible pass D he didn't have that many passing yards. In fact, one call in the first half goes arkansas way arkansas wins without Mellet.

Should you really be drinking so heavily on a school night?

Look the kid is very good. I wish we had him. I wish we had Arky's back up as well.

you obviously didn't see them play arkansas. this is newton's first year starting at au and he's gotten better every game. against arky, he looked like a world beater at passing, much less running. he is not rated hi enough IMHO. we will need to contain him most of the time (probably as good as can be done) to have a chance to win.

Newton has been nothing less than spectacular when you look at his performance throughout the season. He has also gotten better as the season has gone along. I however am a firm believer that a defense as good as ours can take a player like that and make him look nothing better than average. Here is to hoping our defense is up to the challenge.

Honestly, I am terrified of playing him this weekend but our D should be up to it. I get the feeling that he has been acquiring a sense of invincibility the past few games(body language etc.) and the time is right for a letdown.

I think he is completely legit; however, I believe the Auburn offense is overrated. Since it is based so much around one guy it can be taken down. I have no doubt in Chavis being able to have guys like KShep, Peterson, and Tyrann hold him in check.

I think the kid is good and has talent but he really has not faced a tough defense yet. Much less a good defense against the run. You can say South Carolina but they are hit or miss. Miss St is no where near the defensive talent we are and they shut him down. In fact you can beat Auburn without taking him out of the game, Just contain him enough to make him rely more on passing than running and you take away from Auburn.

Spy him and mix in run blitz against him and you hamper their offense.

He is impressive to watch. I won't call him overrated. But they will need more than just him to beat us.

We have no passing game either for the most part.

And he didn't need passing yards against Arkansas because he ran over their faces. 65 points...

Their D is crappy though. Our D is great.

If we don't turn it over and have a decent passing day, we should have a fair chance at winning.

He has a pro league arm.
He can run.
He's 6'6" 250 lbs
He has decent accuracy on his throws.
He's a man amongst boys in college ball.

It is better to be silent and have people think that you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Can Newton is the Auburn offense. Don't sell him short. He leads the SEC in rushing. And he has a strong arm and is accurate. I agree that the Tigers can win. But it won't be his fault if it happens.

You can saw that about our defense too. This game will be close if we have JJ playing.

Newton is the real deal....UF's loss there!

We are playing AU and the ref's...don't fool yourself.
