If tweet fails to load, click here. Gavin Newsom uses the open of his podcast to sign a bill forcing companies to dig for slavery ties -- and make them public.
"This is a bill that requires large companies that operated before 1965 to search their records for ties to slavery, going back to 1849."
"And then we make it public."
"Accountability starts with the truth."
He's announcing the launch of a corporate guilt record to set the stage for reparations, set to a cheesy soundtrack.
This guy wants to be president.

California should be trying to figure out where that money went for that train and quit worrying about shite from 200 years ago.

Constitution of California explicitly banned slavery when the region entered the United States as a free state in 1850.

They know where it went. In their bank accounts.

"We were founded in 1960. Slavery was already illegal."

The irs should be investigated for ties to slavery
I work in the field and they take my wages so that people who don’t look like me can live in a big house and eat seafood and steaks and drive a Cadillac Escalade

Do Nike and Victoria's Secret and Apple have to answer for present day slave labor? Or is that (D)ifferent?

Imagine voting for anything close to the democrat party right now because gas prices may be a little elevated at the moment.

Posturing. Will never be enforced

This is bullshite, but is this worse than states banning contracts with companies who boycott Israel?
No government should intervene in the market in this way.

And they still end up poor.
These people don’t understand generational wealth or even how to get out of their own way.

This evil retarded lunatic needs to emancipate himself from mental slavery.

Are these companies based in CA?
So another method that will get large companies out of your state.
These people are idiots.
Beside what will this accomplish? You going to fine them or use that as a way to acquire reparations from these guilty companies.
Punish people and companies that had nothing to do with the slavery of 1800's, which was legal at the time.
If we are talking accountability, how about accountability from the CA govt and the rampant fraud that happens with tax payer dollars.

I really feel like the opium tents we had in the old west would’ve been a big problem for me lol.
