Actually most here know that he has been an announcer before that is why they don't want him because they have heard him. But keep white nighting for him.

What qualified Sid for the job? He was a newscaster for WAFB and the voice of a puppet. He wasn't some long time stadium PA announcer prior to getting the job. It's not like LSU went and took the Green Bay Packers's PA guy. LSU just needed someone and he agreed to do it. Your fondness comes from the fact he was the voice you heard in Tiger Stadium for 30 years...not because he was necessarily "highly qualified" for the job when he got it, or at least highly qualified relative to any other stadium PA. (every SEC school thinks their guy was the greatest). But because he became associated with LSU football. And when Borne got the job people lamented that he wasn't "Sid". Now, 40 years later, a new generation laments that this guy isn't "Dan".

There probably are. But the guy has been doing PA announcing at LSU for a few years now and NO ONE complained...until today. Now it is a great travesty he will be the PA announcer at Tiger Stadium. If he says 20-30 years, you'll have people on this board (if he still exists) losing their shite when Dixon gets replaced.

I guarantee no one will complain when Dixon is replaced. The sooner the better. Again I ask did you ever hear Sid Crocker. If you would have you wouldn't compare Dixon to him . Sid is a legend Dixon is a joke no one laughed at Sids announcing. I know for a fact and I know Dixon and his Daddy that many CHS grads can't stand to listen to him call games!

You can claim you don't want him because of how he sounds all you want, but you already showed your hand in another thread. You are a grown man who is absolutely obsessed with the McMakin family. You railed on his acceptance into a fraternity. You criticized his sister for being queen of some mardi gras parade.

No one on this thread should take anything Rudy40 says seriously. He absolutely despises the McMakin family.

Saint PA announcer is crap.

I wanted Franques. The few Catholic games I went to, I didn’t notice anything bad about PA announcer.

Hopefully Dixon can keep it about the game and time his announcements.

I think you are conflating his play-by-play broadcast of CHS games with being a PA announcer. If he were being hired to replace Chris Blair on the radio broadcast I'd be right there with you. But this is just the PA job. I've heard him do both. The pbp isn't good. The PA announcing is fine. I posted a video of him announcing at a basketball game this year. Even Chicken didn't find anything bad about it. He sounds like any other PA announcer.

It appears you have personal beef with the McMakin family. I'm continuing the argument/discussion because I find it funny. However, you seem quite angry a member of that family has some sort of prominent position. Can't help you with that

The McMakin family are huge supporters of LSU. And using your success and relationships to give your children an advantage is what good parents are supposed to do.
It's seven nights a year and who can tell me they really care what the announcer says during the game. In my over 200 times in Tiger Stadium, the only time I ever recall hearing the announcer is pre-game.
