This is a civil case, not a criminal prosecution. The athletes are plaintiffs, and the NCAA, SEC, and Commissioner Greg Sankey are defendants/respondents in the relevant proceedings.
Tomorrow's hearing concerns things like the preliminary injunction, the SEC's attempt to dissolve the TRO, and the court's show-cause order. The SEC filed papers today asking Judge Jorden to deny the preliminary injunction and dissolve the TRO.

I honestly have no idea how an elected official can represent the SEC in this case without there being a serious conflict of interests, especially given the Louisiana AG's amicus brief that was filed today on behalf of the State. Most states don't allow even assistant DAs to maintain a private practice

If this stays in Louisiana and doesn't get to outside fed court, there is no way that LSU is screwed in the long run. I dont care what the case law says- the first circuit and LASC are not going to rule in a way that totally f's the state's flagship university of which many of them are alums/fans.
