re: Covenant Christian baseball sets LHSAA record with 30 straight wins

I think CCA has a great shot at ending the season unblemished, only team I thought on schedule that could beat them would be SCC but after looking how SCC threw there ace on thursday night and not throw him at CCA, I see them having a great chance at bringing home the throphy this season with a 0 in the loss column.
re: U High Playoffs?

I was about to ask and say why is Uhigh 9-1 and not 8-2 but hes since corrected that statement it looks like, well hes been on top of all the info on that board so I guess there is truth to it and we wll see if the LHSAA takes that route and puts them in for now so every other damn school doesnt get screwed by all of this.

Basically this is what happened.....
A kid left Liberty Magnet to go to UHigh, since they in the same zone, Uhigh would then have to have Liberty Magnet sign off on the kid now enrolling at UH. UH never did that, therefore, Liberty still has the kid as a student athlete and his grade transcripts at Liberty, he is still being counted in the enrollment since UHigh never officially filed the paperwork for him at Uhigh. Honestly, I think its just simple mistake by Uhigh forgetting to get every thing signed, but by rule it is a forfeitable offence.

re: U-HIGH football being investigated by LHSAA for Ineligible Player
Posted by TigerontheInside on 11/5/24 at 2:45 pm to yaherrdme
What I was saying was, those teams are in a huge district and dont play hardly any non district opponets, that way they are automatically collecting points from there distirct wins over each other. Uhigh I gave every team on its schedule in the non district a win(even though i dont think that happens) and then gave them the most possible from its gauranteed district wins, that puts them at around 7.6-7.7. The ones above them, I just gave them the least amount of points do to there non district not winning and just get the gauranteed districts wins and UHigh is short by a win. Therefore, they hold off the cubs for the 24th spot.

Yes, I factored in the most points UHigh could get, and I factored in the least amount of points teams in front of them can get, they will at best be around 7.6, Those schools right ahead of them at 24-25-26 all will collect points cause they play in a 8 team district, they gauranteed a certain amount. UHigh basically needs to win the appeal, there is no getting in without it.

For those of you saying they can get to 24 with a win, its impossible, they are out if they dont win the appeal. You can give them every win on the schedule for this week and give them the points for beating Port Allen and they will finish at best 7.6 and be 25.
That will not be enough, the lowest I believe is 7.7 of the teams right before them, so they would have to get another win somewhere but its impossible. They are out.

re: Annual Official LA HS Baseball Season-long Thread

This could just be B.S., but I was told John Curtis had no choice to pick that field to play this weekend. Kirsch-Rooney has the Region 23 conference tourney (delgado hosting) so you cant play there and Rummel has rights to Mike Miley for first choice and they decided to play its series there. The Quarterfinals have to be played by Saturday night pending any delays do to weather, that case it can be moved into sunday. The only option was the park in Harahan, like I said when I asked why that field, this is the response I was told.

Alot of teams scout throughout the year and espically with the playoffs. I attended a few games in the last 2 weeks of watching my kids play and others within the area, I can tell you I seen coaches from Mandeville at Hahnville/Neville Series, I seen St. Charles Catholic at Pope/Newman, I seen Cath Br at Jesuit/St Pauls. If you have the chance to learn more about your opponnet and in first hand, trust me if you got enough guys on the coaching staff to help you out, lots of schools will do it.

Thats why I was a lil shocked as of how reports on him got out, I didnt hear it anywhere and then all of a sudden this weekend, radio and news out of Ames says he would be willing to listen if approched.

News Outlets out of Ames Iowa are reporting he would be willing to listen and be interested, dont know if his agent leaked that or what, but all of a sudden his name has popped up.

So you think they’d give Higgins and Grace King good refs and Newman and SCC shitty ones??? Just because one is 5A and the other is 2A?
Also it’s entirely possible they’re not thinking that detailed and are giving Holy Cross shitty refs because, well they’ve been pretty shitty and this was their home game
What I am saying is if a complaint is registered against a crew, the head of the association in which they come from will always ask for 2 things.
1. Coach who files motion to call in directly.
2. Number of the clip of the play (Most teams have hudl these days, so they will send in that clip directly to the association hudl account, officials also grade their films for techniques and its how they are awarded playoffs and so on).
I know for a fact in the past, if a certain ruling or play needs to be addressed in which the head of the association does rule to be incorrect, the head referee of that game (not all officials on that crew), will not have either team the rest of the season in which to officate (HC and Rum in this case).
I can promise you, that referee wont have a catholic league game next week, the bigger the game, some of the best crews get. Heck the game in which you mentioned, SCC and Newman was one of the best crews from its association who also had a state championship game in natchitoches last year.
You think that was a coincidence, a game of that magnitude had a superb crew or just a regular joe who had sophie b wright the week before, crews are graded week to week on their work.
The fact is, what I witnessed tonight was embrassing, you simply cannot mess that up, he literally waved the flag off, said 4th down and signaled it even though the down marker said 3rd, and then Monica waited for the next play to be run which is smart, they celebrated and ran off feild and refs didnt notice mistake.

After watching the Rummel/HC game I would think that film has to be sent in to the head of the referee association to review, the LHSAA doesnt handle certain instances like what happened, they usually let the Head of the Officials from where they from review it, but I would guess that crew would more then likely not have a game of that caliber and probably have lower classification games (meaning the Cohens or Sci Academy games of the world until playoff time).
That simply CANNOT happen, I didnt have a dog in the fight but I think knowing what happened a few plays later with the TD kinda makes it even worse.
Once Monica got the flag thrown on him which I dont think anyone can blame him, You could see once the refs kinda were hesitent at times with the way the rest of the game was called, I think they knew they messed up and I agree they got out of the stadium faster then any ref crew I ever seen, they didnt even wait for security who usually accompanies them to the locker room for safety, they blew right by them LOL.
All in all, it was a good game and a big win for HC, but unforunately with what happened, that hangs over the game more then the play on the field.

New Name popping up....

You can take this with a grain of salt and I completely understand, I was told early this morning, LSU officials wanna know and gage on if Scott Brown (Vanderbilt Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator) would have any interest in the job, of course he is a bit occupied right now with his team playing this weekend, but from all indications that is one name that was brought up over the weekend and maybe why this is taking a lil time.
He is loyal to Corbin and has never been a Head Coach before but has indicated if the right opportunity ever came open, he would be willing to leave. Has anyone heard this before???, it comes from someone very reliable but I haven't read every post on here to see if I just missed it (Sorry if Duplicate).

My sources (who know Cain personally) said with the speculation of a new staff coming in as well as a HC, Cain is interested in the Nicholls St Head Coaching job, and they have mutual interest as well, but wont discuss anything until LSU season is a wrap.
