But everybody knows that " players only love you when they're playing."

Players don't lose games; plays lose players. Players are made by adding "er" to plays; "er" is universally known as an expression of pause or confusion. This is what's happening to our players playing with plays and being outplayed, especially on plays where player's players aren't playing, and this nonsense is all played out.

Yeah, you and the rest of the rant doesn't.

Games lost are lost by coaches and coaches only.

I actually disagree with that sentiment. That's sort of the mantra that Miles had here actually. He didn't care about out scheming anyone. He was going to do what he wanted to do because he had better players in a lot of cases and just wanted to win on talent.

Not saying that's exactly what Canada is saying, but I have to disagree.

that's not what he is saying at all. That was sabotaging the offense. What he is saying is that the coach shouldn't sabotage his players by putting them in positions where they can't be successful. For example, running dive plays into stacked d-lines. Plays are overrated but they have to at least give your players a chance to be successfull, then it is up to the players to win the games

"Plays are overrated. Players win games. Not plays."

Well that is undoubtedly out of context because standalone it makes ABSOLUTELY no sense coming from an OC or any Offensive Coach.

Pkays & Coaching

LF vs ALA: He could not win with the Plays LSU called. He was knocked out of the 2014 game by Collins and Foster and he was shut down all 3 yrs vs ALA and that sends a powerful message to Boosters, Recruits, Fans, & the BOS.

Also, I can think of Saban's amazing Fat Guy play with the RT flexed out as a TE, his fake punt on 4th down, and his onside kick/pass to Cyrus Jones to get that one critical extra possesion vs Clem in CFPNC game. There’s no greater testament to the revolutionary influence of HUNH run/pass option plays on college football than in the pivot by Nick Saban at Alabama over the last three years.

We had the #2 Roster of the very best in the FBS and are going to very likely end up 7-5. The Roster has been top 5 for 4 years and LSU is right at 50% in the SECW and 55% in the SEC over that period of time.

LSU with the #2 FBS Roster in 2016 and #5 FBS roster for the last 4 yrs has zero top 10 finishes: 14th, unranked, 12th, and likely unranked this yr - under-performing the player Roster rank by a huge margin.

19 of the Top 25 teams over-performed their Roster rank by a wide margin including #73 Houston finishing 8th, TCU, Navy. 6 of the Top 10 teams have never had a top 2 recruiting class and averaged #40 in Roster strength. What they did have was a modern offenses - DTQBs running RPO offenses at 70-90 plays a game and Scoring 45-70 pts.

Coaching and Scheme, Tempo/RPO/Spread/Game Planning/Plays and Play Calling all Trump Roster Talent: Just think of the boring predictable plays LSU ran along with being the least spread and slowest pace of play in the SEC.

2016 Top 25

- 19 of the top 25 teams outperformed their average recruiting ranking (while Alabama matched it).

- 4 of the top 9 teams didn’t put together a top-20 recruiting class in the previous four years.

Lamar Jackson and their HUNH RPO is very likely to run through LSU like shite through a Goose.

Just an excuse in case he fails because plays or game plans or schemes are just as important as players if not more so. Without good game plans players would fail miserably when play with a power 5 team like Bama.

His point was that you don't pick players to match the playbook. You pick the playbook to match the players.

I swear, our fans sometimes...
