Curious the Rants thoughts on this.

If the players win games, do they lose them also?

Let's remember that only coaches are responsible for losses, not wins. Players are only responsible for wins, not losses?

Players make plays when they are not there.

Plays make players when they are not there.

The key is to have both.

That line is classic "coach speak", I'd take it with a grain of salt.

It's the type of coach speak you use when your about to go recruit the best fricking players in the country.

It's probably a combination of both. In sports like basketball and baseball, I think it's more about the players.

In football, an offensive coordinator may have 2-3 plays per game that he knows will work for huge chunks of yards if executed properly. Of course, one missed assignment by an O-Line (or dropped pass by a WR, etc.) can blow up the play before it has a chance to happen.

I think it's a combination of both in football, hard to say which is more important because they both are.

Orgeron: "I wonder what tigerdroppings is overreacting to about that press conference."

Aranda: "Shut up, Ed. We were talking about the aggie game..."

He's probably talking about recruiting the best players possible and getting them onto the field. You can call the best plays in the world, but without the right players on the field to execute them, they are useless.

How are you taking all of this? I know you were a huge Miles apologist. What is your take on Coach O?

It all starts at the top, Prominetwon. The coaches win as do the players. It is not either or, but the coaches are responsible for who hits the field and the shape they are in to play by and large...

More specifically it's a players coach coachspeak. Give the players all the credit for wins and take all the blame for losses. Nothing else to read into it.
