Based off last year's team, what makes you think LSU wins 11 games this season?

"How is picking 8-4 negative?????"

We really only play 8 games, 9 if you count Syracuse. So, what you're saying is that 4-4 in the SEC is not a negative outcome for this team. I disagree because I think this team is too talented just to go .500, even in the rugged SEC.

Because with decent QB play we would have won 10 games last year?

They have to be based on something, right? What all do we have to go on, then?

Last year
Personnel losses
Returners
Expected improvements
Understanding that not EVERYTHING will improve
Spring/Summer/"Fall" practices
Coaches

He shouldn't go off just one, but last year has to be the baseline

Exactly - more experience all around - better OL with a better understanding of Grimes' scheme, bruising running backs, speedy receivers, HOPEFULLY much improved qb play, and a continuation of a good defense. Teams do improve with practice and experience.

Last year is always nothing but a data point that has to be taken into context. No one predicted 2011 would turn out like it did based on the 2010 team. The fatal mistake, which I correctly pointed out back then, was assuming that the defense wouldn't be near as good due to the losses of PP7, Kelvin and Nevis.

90% of predictions are assumptions. So I'm not sure how you avoid that. We assume this year's back field (offense and defense) will be what carries each side of the ball (no pun intended). Does that mean it WILL happen. Of course not.

Doesn't compute....I'm labeled a nega-tiger but believe we will finish 11-1. How does that work?

Do you really need explaining what a negative prediction is?

I like his negative prediction of 11-1. Guess positive would be 12-0, but he's a negatiger.
