Gonna have to test some of these boys in conference play. Guidry could be very helpful. I think Noot has shown flashes. Need 8 pitchers to get to and win in omaha.

It is getting a reliable lefty. That has been the issue IMO. Who is the Cooper on this staff?

They got a o lot of pitchers that need work on Tuesday

Ware
Noot
Schmidt
Rizy

I have a hard time believing Guidry debuts against auburn

I would think he gets a midweek game first

I think when benge is on he's better than what he's given credit for being. He's better than the other lefty he's competing with, primeaux.

Did we see anything from the last couple of guys against tech that we were encouraged by?

If the five of Kade, Eyanson, Shores, Evans, and Cowan continue at this pace, then you really just have to piece the rest of the leverage innings together.

I think we're well on our way of establishing that. Ware, Noot, Schmidt, Rizy, and Benge are capable and have shown flashes. They just need to be more consistent. We also have other guys with the tools that have mostly struggled but may pop later.

Not the thread to call it out, but Hernandez and Stanfield were about as impactful in this series as the pitching staff was.

Benge is a righty.

Out of the freshman I thought Rizy had the most encouraging outing and gave up 1 hit with 1 K in 1.1 IP. Schmidt started and gave up 3 hits, 1 BB with 2 K's in 2.2 IP on 51 pitches with 29 strikes. LHP Cooper went 2 IP with 2 walks and a hit. Benge came in behind Primeaux and got his one out on one pitch but was replaced by Mayers the next frame. Mayers gave up 2 walks and a hit in .2 IP before getting the hook for utility man Beck. Beck looked okay and had 2 K's but walked 2 in his one IP. RHP Dorsey came in at the end and was pumping mostly strikes. He gave up a hit in his .2 IP throwing 14 pitches with 10 for strkes.

Yes, definitely his best start of the season, wasn't criticizing this one by any means. If we can just count on 5 ip from our number 3 every weekend, we'll be golden...He's definitely improving week to week.

I must have got him confused with Cooper Williams and someone else..who's the other lefty in the pen? Primeaux and Williams and who ?

It was ware

Dorsey was the other one I thought that looked decent and was throwing strikes. He was highly thought of coming from south Florida. Maybe get him more run.

RHP Dylan Thompson is the only arm yet to make a season debut I believe. I think he was warming late for the UL Lafayette game and Jay said he was going to put him in but run rule ended the game before he could make an appearance

ETA- I agree Dorsey needs more work. He was a workhorse innings wise at USF if I remember correctly but has been extremely limited here along with Woods

I'll probably get roasted for this because he may have the lowest velocity on the team but he was pretty effective in offseason live batting. I'm assuming that they may redshirt him now since he hasn't played, but I have been waiting to see what he does if he ever gets into a game
