For most teams, it’s harder to go undefeated against tOSU’s schedule than against LSU’s schedule, and that’s why tOSU’s opponents have a better combined record

Since LSU's Strength of Record is #1, this is literally not true.
This cannot be concluded from a metric whose objective is to quantify:
quote:

"The chance that an average top 25 team would have the same record or better, given the same schedule."
SOR compares top teams against each other, and that’s informative and interesting, but what I said is something that applies to all teams, so SOR can’t possibly prove or disprove anything I say within that frame.

I observe that Ohio State’s opponents have a better record than LSU’s opponents. Therefore, I conclude that most, but not necessarily all, teams would have a harder time going undefeated vs tOSU’s schedule than vs LSU’s schedule. I’m certain there are countless good arguments in opposition to what I’ve said, but a point citing SOR doesn’t belong in this case.

I remember when you actually joined in 2007, and blew up this message board with a ridiculous amount of posts, and the same arguments. How did that work out for y’all?

I think LSU has a great chance to win vs Ohio State. Their offense is excellent.

I hope it's an LSU, OSU final.

It's hard to fathom there's anyone who could NOT be excited about the prospect of that game.

LOL, what?! It’s literally the most important metric they use and refer to every Tuesday night, but if almighty xiv says otherwise then who are we to question?

Admittedly, I was a total douche on this board in 2007.

It's already very close in some metrics, so I wouldn't say its "Really, really dumb."

our best OOC opponent is a 5 loss unranked pile of flaming dogshit this year.

OOC doesn’t matter when you fricking play 4 or 5 ranked conference opponents every year INCLUDING fricking Alabama who is usually ranked #1 or#2.

The problem is, there is no legitimacy to having Penn State in the top 10 anymore. They are essentially saying a 2 loss Penn State is better than a 1 loss Alabama FOR THIS INSTANCE ONLY yet they don’t rank it that way. How can you say OSU’s win over Penn State is better than a win over Alabama when you STILL have Alabama ranked higher than Penn State.

No, what this really is is fricking bias opinions leading the way.

But it is what it is and LSU will roll the frick out of a highly overrated OSU team.

a) melt
b) You cited six games and said everything else is a wash. That isn’t how this works. Everything else isn’t a wash, and it counts.

Well they didn't say this.

So there's that.

That’s EXACTLY what they said with this ranking.

OSU let a back up QB almost beat them. If Penn State hadn’t bumble fricked the 4th quarter, that’s a loss for OSU.

No, that’s not remotely what they are saying.. YOU might be thinking they should only look at 1 game but the committee is not

You probably put “predicted John Brady to reach final 4” on your job resume

Hahaha, is that what we’re classifying as a “melt” these days? Thinking you’re an idiot is not melting.

You do realize that when something is a “wash,” it means it's about even and the things under consideration can't be meaningfully differentiated in terms of value.
