You're up a run with runners on first and third. Why would you play the infield in if you're Wake Forest. That was a Taylor made double play if they're at regular depth.

This has been the most exciting regional round in a long time

quote:oh 100%. There were threads yesterday pregame about best opportunity to win regional being saving your aces for mythical games that may never even happen rather than pitching with the goal in mind to go 2-0.
Are there really people who don’t understand this? In this format going 2-0 is supremely important. Same as CWS. We saw the difficulty of going 1-1 last year - but the regional means three wins across 36 hours. At least in the CWS you get some (not much) recovery time. That’s why we could have Skenes in the bracket final.
Plenty people didn’t want lsu pitching Jump against Wofford yesterday thinking they were as bad as Grambling. Had we lost yesterday it’s possible we wouldn’t even be able to throw one of Jump/Holman at all this weekend.

WF is still playing in with 1 out

And it possibly cost them! Why don’t play at DP depth there?

Lmao if Wake had played DP depth that could’ve been a 4-6-3

Bet they would have liked to have had their 1B at regular depth.

Yea, very strange call by their coach there.

.191 hitter with the walk off

I’m glad a bunch of Wake fans are going home crying. They were by far the worst fan base I encountered in Omaha.
Posted on 6/1/24 at 2:43 pm to Tigerfan1274
Yeah on replay it would’ve been 3-6-4

Their pitching lab must not have worked this season.
