Scoring a 198+ and losing to those heifers sucks.

You might be surprised but you and I likely agree here more than you think. I just saw the writing on the wall before you. Sorry you got butthurt.

We won in 2016 and I’d say today although this one was closer. OU being over scored has made this tournament a joke for a decade.

1. It's quite frankly amazing how close we came to winning it all this year. After everything we lost from last season, this should have been something of a "rebuilding" year.
2. I don't know what can be done, but the OU bias needs to change. The sport is too competitive at the top now to have the same team repeating every year in a sport that's "objectively" judged. It's gonna ruin the sport.

Don’t ever get involved with sport where a judge determines the winner.

I didn’t say this. Where did you grab that quote?
My initial comment after 1st rotation was based on an unusual low score on floor and OU had a lead even after being on beam, likely the hardest rotation.

What was up with how long our gymnast had to wait to get on the beam. It seemed unacceptable how long it took them to post the previous score and allow her to do her routine. I believe that absolutely affected her performance having to wait that long after being called up to perform.
She basically got warmed up and ready to go and then had to sit there and wait so long.
It sucks because minus her falling off the beam, her routine was great and she stuck her landing too.
I believe even despite what seemed to be over scoring OU on the floor, LSU would be champions right now if it wasn’t for her having to wait so so long before she was allowed to perform her routine.
Am I alone on this?

They intentionally iced her to get OU ahead in the rotation so they knew how low to score LSU.

That’s exactly what I thought

One judge scored that beam routine a 9.75 another judge had 9.86.
Wonder who the 9.7 judge was rooting for?

Agreed…. I typically don’t follow gymnastics, but it seems ridiculous to win or lose a national championship by .08 of a point.
Is this a typical margin of victory in this sport?
Unless I am thinking of it wrong, that is just one single judge seeing things slightly different on one event….

Track and Field
Tennis, to name but two.
As for other team sports, rarely is each participant given a score on each performance that determines an outcome

Timed it 4 min. wait. Way too long.

This happened bc there was one way low outlier judge score. When this happens the judges have to huddle and discuss then correct their scoring. That was the source of the delay.

I wouldn’t say that close is typical. That’s a very close finish. Made for great drama in the arena. We all knew Kailin needed a 9.9875 to tie. She had the tiniest of hops on her landing. Two judges out of 6 gave her a 9.85 which was honestly ridiculous. That should’ve been a 9.95 routine which still wouldn’t have been enough. It’s gonna be a tough 48 hrs for her bc she does hold herself to a higher standard and stuck like 13 landings this season on beam. She’s the best in D1.

Second Place is better than Third Place, but isn't as good as First Place.

Most absurd thing I’ve read on this thread. And that’s quite the accomplishment. I hope you don’t have kids, now or in the future, with that attitude.

They return a ton next year, including a great recruiting class and add a healthy Zoe Miller to the mix. They will be back in the final four again
