Chad Jones
Jared Mitchell
Spencer Ware
I love it when we have a big arse yoked up football player contributing on the baseball team.
We were always hoping some idiot would charge the mount while Chad Jones was on it or try to block the plate while Spencer Ware was rounding the bases.

Wally.
Not because he died, because I was in 9th grade and loved how a Freshman came in and started on a National Championship team. He was my favorite player there on out.

Has to be Ben McDonald. I was in high school when he was at LSU. I can't saw I watched him on TV but listened to plenty of games on the radio. No ESPN+ back then.

Not favorite but I remember "Matty ice" our closer. He was only throwing 89-91 maybe, but he was damn near impossible to hit that one season.

Blair Barbier. I knew him from HS. I was a nobody and he was a king on the LSU campus but he still remembered me and was friendly.
I showed up at a baseball player party one night and he was there with two girls on his lap. The perks of being an LSU athlete.

Tre Morgan - greatest defensive 1st baseman I’ve ever seen. So much fun to watch.
Honorable mention: Will Helmers - Jesuit grad; so much grit and poise on the mound in the limited time we saw him; model young man for my son to look up to. He won us over in the press conferences.

Ray Wright…that leaping catch in the 2000 CWS Championship game against Stanford was a thing of beauty…stole a granny and kept us in the game, ultimately winning our 5th CWS title.
That 2000 game against Stanford was a real battle

Todd Walker. No reason needed for him.

Todd Walker.
When anything was on the line, dude came through. Always.
Big fan of Laxton's as well. Dude was an amazing freshman and absolutely demolished a strong WS team with his fastball.

Punted in a spring game in his Baseball uniform right after a baseball game.

Chad Jones. Loved the dreadlocks of doom coming in jacked up in that CWS years ago. Chest bumping people damn near knocking them down.
Same. Probably my all-time favorite in any sport at any level.
