Do we?

We know he was the highest rated QB in high school as determined by the rating services. That certainly carries a great deal of weight. But let's not pretend that it certifies that he will be a great college QB. Too many 5* QBs have failed in college to pretend that we KNOW the talent is there.

I have nothing personal against him. He seems like a very gifted QB. I won't say that his first year at Michigan proves he's a bust, but I won't ignore his first year either.

In the final analysis, if Kiffin wants him at the price required to obtain his services, let's go get him.

Bryce Underwood has to learn to put touch on his passes. Whether he’s throwing a 12 yard out route or a screen pass he just throws a laser.

Your logic is sound. Have we any evidence he would come to LSU?

How many true freshmen in this era start all 12 games and only throw 9 touchdown passes?

quote:

11 TDs, 6 ints in the 7 games he started his freshman year.

That’s 19 TDs, 10 int over a 12 game schedule back when the DBs were still allowed to be somewhat physical.

is he worth giving up a fourth of our budget?
The NFL thinks good QBs are worth about 20% of the salary cap, there’s over 10 QBs making $50-60Mil (the cap is around $280).

Recently?

Jalen Hurts
Trevor Lawrence
Lamar Jackson
Sam Howell

I don’t think anyone is surprised when true freshmen, in general, struggle, but Underwood was the #1 player in his class and thought to be a generational talent. Him not doing better than he did was somewhat surprising to most people

If he enters the portal, which I don’t think he has, then he’s obviously open to taking less to go somewhere to develop better or chase a championship or both. Until then it’s really not worth discussing the money part of it.

Nah, screw him. I’ll go with the guy Lane brings in, if it’s him, then I’ll have to accept it but I could care less about that dude.

would love to see him play in the offenses now. I know he was a classic drop back qb but he had such great touch on his passes.

Underwood just turned 18. He's BY far the biggest get in the portal if he leaves.

If he hits the portal, it will be a major bidding war. I think everyone here would take him, as would every coach in America. The question is not talent, but cost.
