re: My wife says I've ruined the enjoyment of LSU football to her.......

quote:Acceptable.
4. MF'ing and GD'ing the world during the Alabama game(s). No one other than her was a witness thereto.
quote:Acceptable.
Hollering for Tebow to get re-concussed during the Florida game (we were watching this game with another couple)
quote:Mild cursing (if no kids around)= Acceptable. Being an a-hole to folks who are not current members of the LSU Football team or coaching staff or the opposing team or coaching staff (i.e. everyone you know) = Unacceptable.
5. Other Alabama games (see PP7 interceptions), where other people were around, being generally nonpleasant to be around, but holding the cursing down to a few damns, shits, and hells. Ya know, since there were other folks there and all.
quote:I was at that game too. It was not great, but I decided against letting Lee's colorblindness ruin my entire weekend. Acting like a kid who didn't get enough b-day presents = Unacceptable
During the Georgia game, when Lee threw bunch of pics, I did not want to hang around at the tailgate after the game, and wanted to go back to the hotel. My assholery was in full bloom that day for sure.
quote:Drinking gin and tonic during the game = Unacceptable.
2. Throwing about 5 tonic water bottles at our barbq grill (hit it like 3 times, which put big dents in it) during the Clemson game.
quote:"I'm a man and I'm pissed, watch me throw this cocktail glass. Here, hold my tonic, and don't step on the gardenias." = Unacceptable.
Throwing stuff (cocktail glasses) out of our yard from the deck, and onto 6th street (for you Monrovians) during the infamous Ole Miss/no timeout game.
Next year, throw beer bottles, and buy a Weber Grill (no one who is sane would throw shite at one of those high dollar bastards). If you already have a Weber, then you are bat shite nuts.

MOST people dont do the crazy shite this guy is talking about...theres a big difference in screaming when a bad play happens and what this guy is talking about
Well, let's be fair, rather than casting stones and holding ourselves out as the paragons of morality. Let's look at his list objectively. Most of the items pertaining to swearing and screaming. No big deal. One item indicates that he didn't want to remain at a tailgate after a loss. Honestly, I know many people who vacate campus immediately after a loss because they are disappointed, they don't want to be in an environment that reminds them continually of the outcome, and they don't want to interact with celebratory opposing fans. You know such people as well, I'm sure. That doesn't seem unforgiveable.
So now we are down to the two instances of throwing objects. I can't work up too much indignation about a guy denting his own barbecue. That leaves the affair of the glass. I grant you that was dumb and intemperate.
But overall, the guy isn't some depraved loon who carves an L into his wife's breast when LSU loses. He's just a pretty standard angry football fan, the likes of which can be found in any city in America.
In any event, I can't stand the sanctimonious response he has received. It's unwarranted and unseemly.

Are you an LSU graduate?
Posted on 6/25/13 at 5:04 pm to wish i was tebow
You're water bottle story made me laugh. I did the same thing with a gatorade bottle during the 09' Bama game. The lid came off and shite went all over the ceiling. My mom just looked at me like "you have to be kidding" and I picked it up and cleaned everything up as I watched the end of the game. I felt like a dumbass for the rest of the day.

Without proof, we'll never be certain of this.

My wife has gotten on to me a few times because of the MF and GDing. It's usually when I do it in front of my mom or other family. I guess I embarrass her

You're not a "passionate LSU fan," you're an immature douche.

You are like a few friends of mine. I just tell them that y'all have zero outcome on how the game is played. They are kids you're a grown up. I'm not saying I'm fine with the bad play, but what can you do about it.

You need to chill the frick out.
At 46, you're going to die of an early heart attack getting so bent out of shape.
It's just a game played by students.
I'm an LSU alum and 36.
I've cussed my fair share in public and kicked things that I should not have.
By now, the aforementioned behavior occurs only once every third season or so.

Hell, I got kicked out (with Gaston) of TS during the LA Tech game a few seasons ago.
Tech was beating us at half, I poured a giant 1/2 time drink in the stands.
When we score in the third quarter, to finally go up on Tech, I stand up to high five Gaston and he high fives my drink out of my hand.
It explodes. Whiskey everywhere in the crowd.
Hilarity did not ensue.

Screaming profanities out to the point you ruin the event for others is certainly a big deal to most rational people.

Throwing objects is an understandable behavior...for a two year old.

Your attempt at excusing umseemly behavior as ok because he's angry over a loss or a bad play by a 20 year old or a team of 18 to 21 year olds only shows how out of touch you are with good sportsmanship.

You sound just like my dad. (Who is 60.)
Screaming at the tv every 2 minutes, calling "HOLDING, HOLDING, HOLDING" every play, accusing the commentators of being homers for the other team,(regardless of who it is and which team).
On top of this, if my mom says anything about it to him, he blows up on her saying some hissy-fit bullshite like, "I'm sorry that I actually care about the game.
)
I haven't watched a game with him since 1/9, and I don't plan on ever doing so again.
Please, CTFD or DIAF.
I hate you.
