No kidding and buying into one sided interview with plaintiffs in a lawsuit. I’d bet a lot of money LSU knew a claim was coming long before the suit was ever filed. Even just an inkling would shut down communications pronto. No one here knows when any of that happened.

The team wore Brooks’ number on their helmets. A fundraiser was held.

What an awful show of character on Greg brooks SR. Part and the whole family. Hey let’s sue the school who paid for your medical bills . Put your number in the field and helmets . Also discovered the tumor. Now let’s sue them and publicly shame them for not doing enough. Almost like Greg brooks SR . Should’ve listened to his son also and either took him to a specialist himself or tell lsu . But looks like he didn’t do either . LSU probably would’ve hooked his family up hell maybe even do a Greg brooks scholarship in honor of him . But instead his family decided to do a money grab and publicly shame the university and hospital that saved his life

He literally called out BK and LSU for basically ghosting his son during his recovery.

Once families start talking to lawyers and about how surgeries were performed and possible liability, there was no talking directly to him or anyone in his family anymore. I know it took a while for them to sue, but a suit like that takes time.

It’s an easy talking point and rock to throw now, but no direct contact is advice from legal counsel 101, no matter how it looks.

As for OLOL, first off, that’s not LSU. Secondly, I’m definitely not surprised by the lack of quality care there. I was treated by a complete quack of a urologist who was on-call there my freshman year at LSU (94). He botched my kidney stone diagnosis multiple times, performed a surgery with 0% chance of success because couldn’t read an X Ray, and then sent me home thinking I was good. When I ended up back at the hospital for a third time and had to be admitted, he would hardly visit even though I was in terrible pain and had been up for more than 24 hours. Then he had me taken to Radiology and left me there unattended other than the brief attempts to take X Rays every 30 mins with no pain meds for over 4 hours. My parents finally gave up on him and came and found me and then tore him a new one. I was pretty delirious at that point, but I do remember that.

I ended up with very large stones moving on each side at the same time (pretty rare). They had no chance of passing on their own. I ended up in critical condition with both kidneys 95+% blocked before my parents threatened to sue him and he finally performed surgery to remove them. I’ve never seen a doctor as incompetent as this man. It’s also not the only story of incompetence I’ve heard associated with OLOL.

When I went home, my regular doc, who was published and one of the best in that region, told me to never go back to that hospital or to see that doctor again. He gave me a prescription for Dilaudid (which wouldn’t happen in 1,000,000 years today, but he had known me since I was 9 and that I wouldn’t mess with them). He told me to take two and have my parents come down and drive me home (6 hours each way) if another hit while I was in school. Thankfully I only had one more while at LSU and it was over and passed pretty quickly.

Prayers to Greg and his family.

According to the video the family didn’t file a lawsuit until a full year after the coaching staff last made contact with them.

The file date is not the same as when they retain counsel and start that process. Contact is going to cease as soon as that occurs.

Do you think a lawsuit like this one just magically appears? I sued over a defective vehicle where I was able to find proof that the dealership knew about the problem in advance. Even with a smoking gun, it still took three months of prep before our lawyer filed. I have a feeling that a med mal suit over brain cancer is a little more complex than that.

Every single player had to get that stupid shot in 2020or they wouldn’t be allowed to play. And we all know that effing thing caused more blood clots and tumors than they are ever going to admit. Never had to happen what a shame.

You’re exactly right. Just a sad situation all the way around. I certainly hope the win their lawsuit because it killed what LSU could do.

Most coaches would do everything possible for said player.

I’m sure LSU’s legal team has advised Kelly and any of the admin/staff to speak with Greg or the Brooks’ family since the litigation came about.

However, if it’s true that BK never called the Brooks family or Greg prior to that then what a horrendous look on him and the program. Kid wasn’t only a warrior but a captain.

Every brain tumor is different and just because Michael Strahan’s daughter did well, doesn’t mean everyone else will have a similar outcome. Tumor location and difficulty of removing it plays a big factor in post operative stroke risk.

And for ABC to not at least point this out in their reporting is, at best, shitty journalism. At worst, it's deliberate malice to get clicks which is disgusting.

Yeah this is a terrible situation and I feel terrible for the young man. Nobody is going to assume brain tumor on a perfectly otherwise healthy young athlete though. The school didn’t give it to him and when they figured it out I’m sure they got the best brain surgeon they could to try an help him survive. Sad situation

Tears after watching that. Hard to admit the feeling of anger towards LSU. then thing that got me..39 days? Initially they said vertigo? The MONEY that LSU has, one would think they would treat these player {especially considering just how much Greg Gave to this Program} That pisses me off.
I have searched many many times on news of Greg, even on the Sportsnet website. NOTHING. ZERO. I have no sympathy if a jury awards a TON OF MONEY to Greg by means of LSU paying Heavily. They took for granted it wasn't serious, or likely treated it perhaps a mild concussion, but to simply ignore this man after what he meant to this program! SHAME absolute disgusted!! GOD BLESS YOU GREG BROOKS. Can't call you little man, you are the BEAST!!! 4Eva Love for you GB

Usually it takes a seizure for doctors to think you have some kind of growth, infection or tumor.. at least that's what it took in my situation

That's 5 1/2 weeks. Most of us couldn't get doctor appointments set up that quickly. You cannot compare the success of the Strahan medical case with GBJr's. Too many variables.
