I don't know why this is being downvoted. If Kelly made no contact with him in the past year and a half, I don't know how anyone could argue that Kelly is not a total douchebag.
You know LSU legal counsel probably told him not to contact him at all. Still I don’t know if I could do that. It would be tough.

The major problems with a "report" like the one in the OP are that they are completely one sided and meant to generate emotional response. LSU and Brian Kelly basically have two options for recourse at this time; they can say nothing or they can refute the claims that Kelly did not reach out to Brooks after October 2023, essentially calling the Brooks family liars.

It's brain surgery. There are monumental risks involved. shite happens. Maybe the surgeon messed up, maybe he didn't. That will likely have to be determined by review.
Yeah baw. That's why I said "if". It was sad seeing Strahan's daughter, who went through the same surgery as Brooks, have a seemingly full recovery, while Brooks is in a wheelchair and can barely speak.

There are a lot of blaming statements being thrown around, my bad.
But to say Strahan's daughter had the same surgery would also be disingenuous, or at least reductive. She was diagnosed with the same type of cancer, but that doesn't mean the situations were the same.
And yes, there are tiers of surgeons. Just like anything else. Maybe her surgeon was better, or quite possibly more experienced in this specific type of surgery. Or maybe her cancer was just in an easier spot to operate. We'll never really know. Even if any type of liability is found on the part of the surgeon, that doesn't mean he actually did anything wrong or that another surgeon would have 100% had better outcomes.
The larger problem falls in trying to find somewhere to place blame other than just accepting this is a shitty situation for this guy and his family. That's not to say there is no blame, but I'm going to need to see a lot more evidence.
Dizzy, passing out, and throwing up for a month and a half and dad didn't find out about it until they were taking his son to surgery? I don't think I'd pass out and throw up one time without telling my parents. And if it happened more than once, my mom wouldn't let me go 5 weeks without going to an actual doctor, not just take an athletic trainer's opinion.
What are the chances he told his dad about it, and dad being the old school football type told him to suck it up the same way the coaching staff did.

until the family filed the Lawsuit once that happened BK cant reach out.
Greg's family claims BK last contacted them in Oct 2023. It appears the lawsuit was filed in Oct 2024.
What happened in the interim?

My brother died from this cancer. My first gut reaction was that Brooks looked good. Strahan's daughter is the exception.
I know that's shocking to read...but this is a brain tumor that attaches itself to the brain stem. Removing that tumor is as life threatening as it gets.
Soon after the surgery, some asked if Brooks would ever play again. I knew better. Happy to see he has some motor skills.
This is what this disease looks like. Crippling to the patient but also the family that will care for him for the rest of his life.
He will never be normal again. His quality of life will depend on his support system. It looks like he has that from afar.
I wish him and his family the best.

It wasn’t a lawsuit at the time lol
Like the dad said, the kid is unresponsive after surgery and he never heard from Kelly.
That’s pathetic
yet BK was giving constant updates and saying how he spoke with the family. so BK is lying or is the group that filed a lawsuit lying?
which is it? because we got constant updates until the lawsuit was filed
your lack of critical thinking skills is whats pathetic
i mean you are taking the word of the dad that is blaming the school for his kid getting brain cancer, he is a real scholar.

so he checked on them of 3-4 months?? eventually you have to move on? if you ever had a coworker die or someone that worked for you die...did you contact them forever?
its the way of the real world, you eventually move on. the world keeps turning, sorry
its not BKs kid. he has an extremely demanding job and kids of his own.
but again yall are taking the word of the obvious scholar in GB's dad.

It's terrible but LSU didn't give him a brain tumor. And complications occur
Med Mal cases are extremely tough to win and prove. I just don't think he is ultimately going to win this case. People always want to look for someone to blame in a scenario like this.

Maybe 1 month from surgery?
Why move the goal posts from he was "told by attorneys not to contact them", to it is just "the way the real world?"
You don't know what happened anymore than anyone else posting on this platform.
Personally, I know there is always more to the story, so I take this story at face value.
Maybe BK was an arse, maybe not.
I sure wouldn't spend time defending him like you have with no true knowledge of what transpired.

This is a gut wrenching story all around. Prayers for a fast recovery.

Are yall retarded?
It wasn’t a lawsuit when at the time
The kid was unresponsive after surgery before it was even a lawsuit and BK didn’t even pick up the phone to ask how the kid was doing
you keep saying this but why was the family at the time saying how much they appreciate the support from lsu community, coaching staff and fellow players? why was his phone "ringing off the hook"?
but again how long is BK supposed to reach out? life goes on, sorry for BK but its the truth.

again if this is the case then why was the family praising the LSU community and coaching staff etc?
LSU paid for everything...you understand that right? 100k+ in surgery paid for by LSU. but sure LSU and BK are the mean ones

Goal posts moved again.
I posted specifically about your stance that BK stopped talking to the family when the lawsuit was filed.
That appears to be untrue.
The rest of your diatribe is immaterial to the stance you took that has no factual base presented thus far.

It doesn’t matter, everyone getting sued. More targets, better hit rates.

It’s hard to watch. Such a terrible situation for a young man with his whole life ahead of him.

Sucks for the young bro. I hope his recovery shocks the world.
Also, NEVER let military or school doctors cut on your brain man. Never. Knees are cool. Brains? They ain't cut out for that!

You also have no factual basis to say that BK stopped talking to the family. You have the testimony of a grieving father who is obviously not in a good mental state right now (rightly) because his entire world has been upended at the horrible state of what his son is going through.
You are insinuating you believe one side of a story in which there is no evidence for either side of the argument. CTFD

Man that’s tough. This is the first time I’ve seen how bad his condition really turned out to be.
This isnt LSUs fault. A month turnaround from first symptoms to diagnosis really isn’t that long.
Maybe a doctor messed up but I’m not buying that without hard proof.
